Honestly I was terrified booking a place to get my hair done as a student who's not local... But wow Alec did an amazing job with my hair I will definitely be returning! Talked to me and made me feel welcome aswell which was very nice . All the staff seem lovely and so welcoming as soon as you step through the door. 10/10 for the haircut, the atmosphere and the staff!!!
Been going to Ollie Griffith for nearly to be the last three years, all he ever shows is an exemplary attitude towards all his clients and co workers. As a regular he has built a reliable and very forward going relationship ,he will always go out of his way to engage in conversation and offer any drink supplements which may be to offer. My experience with Ollie G has been nothing but the best, he has exceeded every past barber experience I have had in the past and continues to deliver the same exceptional experience with every cut, on top of this he is flexible with changing appointments aslong as you give him time in advance. The barbershop as a whole is very welcoming and friendly and if Ollie G wasn’t present I would be more than happy to sit in someone else’s seat as they all are a great set of people and seem to deliver the same experiences and quality of a haircut. - Kyle Noddings
Ollie G at Blakbear has been taking care of my hair for years through mullets, mohawks and whatever else I can think up to try. He never puts in less than 100% and is a solid guy to boot. Love that shiny head!
Been going to Ollie G for some time now. He never disappoints. I’ve Never seen a barber focus on making the haircut as perfect as possible, regardless of the time, until I started going to ollie. He listens to exactly what I ask for in terms of cut and style, and he executes it perfectly every time. Very good conversation whenever I’m there also. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality, consistent barber. I get my hair cut every 2 weeks and wouldn’t want anyone else in york cutting it.
The atmosphere in the shop is second to none & they've always got something good playing in the background. The lads are all welcoming. Big shout out to Joe for always letting me leave the shop with a sick skin fade. My go to barber in York!
Today was my second appointment at Blak Bear with Conner. Conner was very friendly and polite with great attention to detail with the cut. Absolutely loved the cut he gave me. Took the plunge to have a restyle and wet shave for my daughters wedding, Scott was knowledgeable and listened to what I was after. He suggested a few different styles and once I'd decided set about the restyle in a efficient and professional way. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel at ease. Would highly recommend them.
