I sent my daughters to boots to help me buy some baby food for my two daughters who are only 11 months. They went there and I asked them to take a bag because last time I went there I took a bag too, then they told me 2 staff women started yelling at them for having a bag because apparently it wasnt allowed and kept threatening them to get out otherwise they would call the police and the fact that my daughters are only minors and they still have the audacity to say they will call the police on them. They also kept thinking my daughters were going to steal but if they have actually given them a chance to speak then none of this would of happen. One of the British laws and values is respect and tolerance and also liberty and none of those women followed any of that. My daughters had to come back home and told me exactly what happened, so I had to leave my babies starving for a while but then I realised that isn't okay, I went to boots and confronted the women. I was very angry at them and told them what actually happened and that my daughters would never steal a thing. I also told them what my daughters told me about the nasty and horrendous things they said to them. They denied that they never said that so that means their staff are also liars. Soon they came clean and admitted what they did and I had to call my daughter and made them apologise to her. I'm so shocked, the staff there is horrible. I do not recommend this place at all.

Really excellent service by all the staff in the opticians, without exception. All very friendly, professional and kind. I especially appreciated their patience with my autistic son, talking him through very clearly and calmly. The opticians is a lovely calm corner of Ashton!

Great service from staff. Personally prefer the smaller local store than main town centre.

I ordered an emergency prescription for LIFE SAVING medication, as I am currently between doctors at the moment so the only option is to use 111. You would think the service to obtain a prescription would be easy as the 111 operator said, yes that prescription note has been sent electronically to boots, in Ashton, 173 Mossley Street. Upon walking in the staff were not paying any attention to customers and were just chatting, so after making myself known they had no idea a prescription had been sent, but after 20 minutes of fumbling around on their systems found a 'referral for a prescription' that had been sent to them. Not what I was told by the trusted 111 service, however this then caused further problems for them as they couldn't understand why I would need more medication and as to why I couldn't just collect from my usual pharmacy. Now first of all, this really isn't their business, but if it will SAVE MY Life to share this information, then needs must. I had misplaced a newly dispensed batch of my epilepsy medication and needed 1 mornings dose so I wouldn't have the chance of having any more seizures and eventually having the ultimate risk of dying. This proved to be incomprehensible by the staff and had to be explained further many more times until they understood. This took roughly 15 minutes and then after saying they will dispense the medication they told me to take a seat while they worked on boxing up 2 tablets, surely shouldn't take too much longer. Except it took a further 25 minutes as they were chatting, dealing with a customer deciding between branded or unbranded versions of hay-fever tablets. Obviously the more important task in hand! Overall the staff are terrible, the service is absolutely abhorrent and I am in shock that this is still a functioning pharmacy in this day and age, because if anyone came in with any similar problems or conditions that I have faced today, they might encounter a fate worse than mine.
