Great music, not too badly priced with a student card at £7. The queue usually isn't too long to get in. Drinks are well priced for a central Manchester venue as well. Toilets could do with being a bit cleaner but this is usually the case in clubs.

Had a brilliant night at 42’s. If you’re into indie, rock and all the classics you forgot you loved, this place delivers every single time. The music was banging, the atmosphere was relaxed and the whole crowd was there for a proper good night out. Drinks were cheap, service was quick and the staff were sound. It’s got that old school Manchester club feel, nothing fancy, just loud tunes, good people and a place where you can actually let loose. If you want a night that’s fun, messy in the best way and full of nostalgia, 42’s never misses. I’ll definitely be back.

I have never experienced service as unprofessional as this venue. The bouncers are incredibly rude and intimidating they just stand there staring at you, making you feel completely uncomfortable. After making me queue for 20 minutes, they checked and approved my ID, only to then suddenly tell me I couldn’t go in. One of them even grabbed my arm, which is absolutely unacceptable. It’s clear they think it’s “powering” to look down on women and treat them this way. Instead of focusing on giving customers a safe and enjoyable experience, they seem more interested in belittling people and flexing authority. When I raised my concerns, management didn’t take responsibility and instead tried to push the blame back onto me exactly the same pattern I’ve noticed in other reviews. There are far better venues around where women are treated with basic respect. Girls especially AVOID this place.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by the blatant racism we experienced at 42s last night. My friends and I (all white) were easily admitted, but the only Black girl in our group was arbitrarily denied entry for being "too drunk," despite being completely sober. When we confronted the bouncer about her discriminatory behavior and called her racist, she laughed in our faces, as if our concerns were a joke. This kind of blatant discrimination is unacceptable and creates a hostile environment. I urge others to reconsider supporting a venue that condones such behaviour.

Yeeeeah, dont go here if you want a good night clubbing. The music was kind of slow and no one was dancing??? Like, why pay £7 to go to a club if you're just going to stand there?? At least bob up and down a little bit?? The music was slowish but still at least try to make the best of it haha

everyone loves 42’s! But specifically the bouncers inside that make you feel incredibly safe at all times, I had an issue with a man following me and trying to grab me and I knew I could go straight to a bouncer and she got rid of him asap and made sure I was okay- I felt so well looked after and I really appreciated the support :)

Came straight from work at our own bar, all of us were dead sober since we’d been at work. Blonde female bouncer had a power trip and called two girls drunk. As I said these girls were just off shift and dead sober. So horrible bouncers with sad power trips, need to sort it out!
