   I went here alone to watch The Look Back Bores and ended up having the best night out I've had all year, as one person said to me you're amongst friends here. He was absolutely right, it was possibly the friendliest gig crowd I've ever been a part of, and a completely knobhead free zone. Whoever does the sound deservers a big pat on the back as it sounded fantastic. The main room is small and cosy with a bar at the back selling reasonably priced drinks. I know people say it's hard to find but if you call in the Peer Hat before, exit the back door to the right of the bar, turn left up the well lit alley for a few steps and you'll find the entrance is on your left, go up the stairs and your in. Even Tony Christie has been in and scribbled his name on the wall.

2. Nuts ★★★☆☆

   It's a bit of a dive but that's fine as I've no problem seeing live music in small venues like this. They've done ok to make it presentable and although there's no windows the air con ensures that it's comfortable and not smelly! However, they do lose a mark for the loos which are grim, particularly the ladies. It's not easy to find but the easiest way to find it is to go down Little Lever Street and it's down a small ginnel behind the police museum. I've put a few pics on to help. They also lose a mark for poor communication. We sent a message to them but they didn't reply. We asked a question on their facebook site but they didn't respond. We phoned during opening hours and it was just a useless recorded message. Very irritating.

   Really good venue for live music but it is up a very narrow steep set of stairs, so it's not the most easy to get to. However, there are lounges when you make it upstairs so there is somewhere to sit if you can go up. The drinks are a little on the cheaper side.

   It's a strange tiny venue. If you've never been before, finding the entrance isn't easy. Accessibility isn't great if you have any issues. There's no lift, just a narrow stairway to get in. Toilets are also situated up another flight of steps. There is no lift. Drinks were served from a bottle bar, coke is just poured from a large bottle in to very small glasses. It looked like several people were smart enough to just sneak a bunch of their own drinks in. Staff seemed really nice though. Sound was decent, lighting average. It's another venue with inconvenient concrete posts. Seating wise there was a knackered couch. There was the occasional putrid smell that I'm pretty sure was coming from the ducts above, but of course could be from one of the sweaty mothers. It just seemed to keep coming through the same area quite regularly. I've been to worse venues though.

   We visited Aatma as part of the Beyond The Music festival. Google maps steered us to pretty much the right spot, but as others have said in their reviews, finding the exact stairwell entrance is slightly hard. However, if anything that only added to the experience and atmosphere. Upstairs in the venue, the acoustics were good and it’s a decent size for listeners. There’s some scattered seating around the edges including sofas, buy once acts were on everyone was on their feet anyway. The range of soft drinks in the upstairs bar was quite poor, but the atmosphere more than made up for it

   Small venue with character above The Peer Hat. Lighting is not great for photography/video but usable. Was shooting at an event 'Millyz Live In Manchester part of the Rap Box Events & Management Company with Gareth Hunt, DJ Silverfinger Singh, DJ Bayat and Support Acts Kallico Juice, Queens in Kicks Dance Group, Robbahollow, Gio Dee, Trevor Troopz, Joe Prestage.

   I had such a joint great exhibition here with Gill Nicholas, Dom also lent us some bright spotlights, DJ discs and heaters even though we didn't need them. Casual vibes, cosy sofas, good priced drinks and well attended.

   Great venue to see live music. Cheap drinks that wasent the size of a postage stamp. Great atmosphere. Free bottles of water. No frills needed. Possibly could have done with some cleaner toilets but it's a gig venue! Only draw back is its almost impossible to find. Almost.

   What a brilliant venue! No-frills grassroots gig space with a well-stocked bar (and two good draft beers) and a surprisingly good sound system. Feels like you’re at a gig in your mate’s loft apartment. Great staff and crowd. One of the most satisfying gigs I’ve ever been to. Like others say, it is a bit tricky to find the entrance (it’s through the Peer Hat, out into the alley, then left up the stairs), but that’s part of the charm.

   Great venue for bands to play at, the atmosphere is brilliant! Also a really nice place to go for a drink and they have a nice selection of vegan/veggie pizzas to eat too! Really would recommend coming here whether its for a gig or for a drink and some food
