   I’m absolutely disgusted with Saks. I booked in for the St Leger on Thursday and Saturday for updos months ago, only to get a call just a week before from the owner/manager Paul cancelling both appointments. I was told the stylist April who does pin-ups had left and wasn’t returning to saks and that nobody at all would be able to do my hair over that weekend. This left me scrambling to find someone else on short notice, which was impossible as everywhere was already fully booked. To make matters worse, I then received a call on the Friday asking if I was still going to attend the appointment on Saturday far too late after they’d already cancelled and left me stuck. Seeing photos of people’s hair today being done today when I booked mine far in advance has left me fuming especially knowing I had to do my own hair for such an important event. I’ve been a loyal customer for years for cuts and styling, but after this experience I won’t ever be giving them a single penny. Totally unprofessional and unreliable I would never ever recommend this place to anyone.

   I had a really disappointing experience at Saks Doncaster. I went in with better hair than what I left with. Despite showing several photos and clearly explaining what I wanted, I ended up with dull, brassy hair and a very noticeable orange patch on top of my head. The stylist kept asking others for advice throughout the appointment, which didn’t reassure me, it made me feel like she didn’t know what she was doing. She attempted to fix it three times, but each time my hair looked pretty much exactly the same. I left Saks feeling upset and completely robbed. When I returned to raise my concerns, I felt ganged up on and gaslighted. The salon environment felt hostile and awkward. Hearing myself being spoken about negatively in the staff area was the final straw. I was passed between different staff members and barely spoken to throughout the appointment. The only positive was the lovely young woman who washed and finished my hair, she was kind, very talkative, and made me feel slightly more at ease to get me through the negative ordeal. For a salon that claims to offer a high standard of service, this was anything but. I would not recommend to anyone and I won’t be returning. I was straight on the phone to my previous hairdresser, who understand customer service and communication, and who I now trust to fix the mess left behind! Very disappointing after spending £138 and walking out in tears. Never experienced anything like it!

Not only is she incredibly professional, but she also gave me the most gorgeous haircut—exactly what I needed for a fresh, confident look. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. Thank you, Chloe, for making me feel amazing—I’ll definitely be coming back!

   Fantastic local business. Our family usually have a lot on during the week and sometimes struggle to find times when I can get in, but Paul always goes the extra mile to ensure I'm booked in when it suits me. All the staff are super polite, patient, and ensure you are well looked after. Saks have a number of apprentices that have joined the team in recent months and you can see (over time) the care, time and attention Paul and Bec put in to each one individually, to ensure they get the best out of them, and they're not just a number on the books. Great range of products available in the salon. Each stylist I've had over the years has been great in their own way. However, I've had Paul over the last couple of years and wouldn't look anywhere else, now. Being able to have a decent conversation sharing family life, and putting the world to rights on a monthly basis - can't fault the cut either, always delivers! Prices vary on services on stylists, but I can't complain for the service I receive.

   I’ve been going to Becky/Saks for around 10 years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I have a lot of hair and Becky always takes the time to make sure I leave the salon feeling amazing. She’s thorough and explains what she is doing, always managing my expectations if I fancy a change and her and the team always make me feel at home. I’ve also been had my hair done by other members of the team- Paul, Izzy, Stacey, April etc and I’ve never been disappointed. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

   I recently got my hair cut by Becky and it was the most amazing service I have ever received at a hair salon. Becky was so friendly and really listened to what I wanted. She even explained what she was doing at each set which I really liked. I’ve never had a hairstylist do that before. Can’t wait to go back!
