Overall satisfied. No need to make a reservation, prices are reasonable, and the quality is moderate. Payment by card is available, but occasionally you may be asked to pay in cash.
First time going and getting my nails done and I had gotten gel and short length design today. The place was welcoming and the staff were fast paced with getting me seated and sorted out. They understood exactly what I wanted and liked and were very straight forward and got the job done. Will be coming here again in the future.
Had absolutely worst experience Staff is so rude. Went for infills and I showed a picture and was told this is ombre style so need to pay 38£ which is fine but it didn’t turn out to be like the picture that i showed neither does it look ombre, it looks like i got a gel nail polish done Moreover, i was swapped between 3 different staffs , 2 of them didn’t know English at all and it was so hard to communicate, i was trying to tell them that this doesn’t look ombre or maybe choose different color so we can see the ombré effect but he looked at me with blank expressions not understanding a word of English and kept talking to eachother in their language ( which is not a problem generally) but if you don’t pay attention to what the client wants how is that a good customer service The staff was so rough with me that my cuticle started bleeding and i flinched in pain and pulled my hand as a natural reflex and instead of letting go he pulled my finger and twisted my arm I left with bleeding cuticle The attitude of the staff was so so rude and its all 3 men who swapped Look at the inspo photo and look at the result I also want to say that my last 2 times with them were fine and i actually liked my nails but this time it was a whole different experience
Absolutely brilliant, my toes and feet were in a dire state and they have been transformed, I really enjoyed the water foot spa, massage chair and gel finish on my toes.
Worst nail extensions I have ever had(and I’ve had nail extensions in various salons for years which I’ve always been happy with) I absolutely hate them, they are so short,(stumpy!) badly shaped and two nails are wonky!! I showed a photo of what I wanted (my nails done elsewhere previously) and they still did them completely different (wrong!).I did say as soon as they cut the length, and throughout the ‘service’ that they were much too short(not much longer than my natural nails were) and not the right shape at all, but they just ignored me and said they would be ‘fine when finished’! I got swapped between different staff and even had to have a different nail colour than I had requested. When I said I was unhappy with result I was again ignored and asked to pay £38 cash(they would not take card). I feel they rushed me and gave no customer service at all. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
This was my first experience at USA nails. It was great from start to finish. I went with my friend and we were able to walk right in and sit down. I showed a picture of what I wanted and the kind gentleman produced the most beautiful set of gel extensions (actually turned out better than the picture I showed!). My friend was helped by a wonderful lady and she was also very happy with her nails! I highly recommend this place, and the prices are fair!
LAST TIME I’M VISITING HERE. Had my acrylics taken off and gel polish applied on my hands last week and they’d already started to peel and break the very next day. So I decided to visit the salon once I was back in York to see if I could get a fresh full-set, which I’d be more than willing to pay for, but not for the removal of the polish as it didn’t even last 48hours. When I explained this, they wanted to charge me £41 (the price of a full set and half the price of take-off) even though I paid £52 the previous week for the removal of my acrylics and application of the gel polish on both my hands and toes. I even paid an additional £5 for the removal of normal polish on my toes that day, which I later realised isn’t even listed! Totalling £57. As I did not agree with this and was fed up with their service, I told them I’d just pay for the removal and get the full set done somewhere else, which they then went and upped the removal to £8 again? And then the nail lady (whom I believe is the owner) had the gall to turn around and say “you should have had acrylics done last week because your nails are too weak… look” and proceeded to bend them. But my question is, why was this not advised to me in the first place? My issue with this salon isn’t the prices but the way they add these additional charges mid-treatment and how they treat new customers. Instead of them providing me with at least some decent customer service (like they had been doing with everyone else in that salon) and advising me on my nails, they made me feel as if my money & presence wasn’t welcome there, which is a huge shame. And when I had mentioned that I wasn’t happy with how uncomfortable I felt there and that their service wasn’t very good, they just disregarded me and said “okay, thank you bye”… Just a frustrating experience for myself as it would have been nice to have a local place I could visit and have a good rapport with. ‼️Just to add‼️ Since looking at other people's reviews and basing it off my personal experience, there seems to be a theme of discrimination happening here too, which is interesting. I just hope USA nails can now acknowledge this review and improve their services for the future.
I can always rely on this place for a great set of nails. There’s not usual a wait if you come during the quieter times of the day. There’s a huge variety of colours to choose from too. A full set of acrylics takes around 45 minutes and last for around 2 weeks which is great.
Have been a few times and usually been really happy. The last time I went I understand that it was a busy day for them, however under my nails hadn't been tidied up (bumpy acrylic which hadn't been filed down please see pictures) and one of the ladies tried to convince me on a different nail colour about 3 times after saying I liked the one I chose. I was left for a long time between the stages of my appointment as well due to how busy they were and had a different person do each stage of my nails which I think lead to them being untidy. I still like how my nails look on top but just wish they were tidier underneath.
