   I was trying to buy a glass kettle to reduce the microplastic pollution. I checked some of the 'glass' kettles on display and they were clearly plastic, whereas others were made of glass. There was one that wasn't on display so I wanted to open it to check if it was really glass. A member of staff came over and kept telling me off, even though I asked him if he could help me open it (as that's what some other shops do). I said, "If I buy this and it turns out to be plastic then can I return it?". He said "Yes", which is a lie because you can't usually return opened products. After a long time he finally obliged to open the product for me at the counter, I checked and it was immediately obvious to me that it was plastic. I told them they shouldn't sell products that are mislabelled like that and he just shrugged. Overall I found him to be quite rude and unhelpful. If I had really gone and bought the 'glass' kettle without checking, and opened it at home, I doubt I would have been able to return it upon discovering it is really plastic - is this the experience you want your customers to have?

   I went to buy a kettle. The manager was incredibly helpful. He suggested I become a member and I refused. But then I wanted a juice maker and he told me the huge difference in price if I had a Robert Dyas Card. I have been waiting a few years to buy a juice maker, so this really made my day. They’re going to deliver it as well free because I couldn’t carry it home. Fantastic savings And really good service.

   I needed to buy a simple item - windscreen wash for my car. There are hundreds of shops in my area but hardly any sell useful practical items. So I am very grateful to have a local Robert Dyas shop and to find the product I needed at a reasonable price.

   A was there today for buying an item and when I’ve found it, at checkout the senior lady said we’ve got a deal for that item and it’s slightly cheaper. As a customer I’ve never expected these kind of advice, so I really appreciate honesty by that lady. Every time I was in that shop staff was very helpful and friendly and items are handy, recommended to everyone.
