Assaulted violently- get barred, assailant gets away with it. Bouncers manhandled me and chucked my drink on the dance floor in public like thugs. Constant homophobic abuse and aggression from punters. Bouncers always side with them. Repeated false accusations of public indecency and sexual assault just because we're gay & 0 evidence for these claims. Can't even go to the loo without being accused of cruising. Found out from insiders the bouncers were just looking for excuses to bar the gays. Not allowed to even dance with partner without having our behaviour sexualised and being told we're "tormenting all the men" just by dancing and kissed for a couple of seconds. Also had my £90 necklace snatched here.

Been here a few times, and they only seem to play northern soul every time I've been. Perhaps the DJ is stuck in a time warp and needs to play something better. You need to get some R&B and something more modern played. It's lacking in an atmosphere, so I reckon a call to Russ Abbot may help.

The place where we were not allowed in after the England match because we were not English. After the match, my partner and I just wanted to have a drink and go home. Someone who I'm sure there was no security at the door said "Non-English people can't enter" and the security just stared. It was a place I loved very much, but from now on I won't even pass by it. We may not be British but that doesn't mean we don't support where we live.

Lovely setting on a historical street. It's a big place, well laid out and an ideal layout for bands. With a decent sized dance floor in front of the stage. Acoustics are good and a view of the stage from most angles. They band we saw, Manchester Ska Foundation, were, as usual, brilliant and had the place rocking. The bar staff were really pleasant and efficient too.

Dawn and her staff pulled out the stops again. Wonderful evening spent in the VIP area celebrating Vanita Chadwick's 40th Birthday. From the red carpet at the beginning of the evening, to the beautiful buffet. Nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou to you all, this was just what Vanita wanted and needed.

Playing 90s casualty on TV on a Saturday night lol Frozen glasses were a nice touch, however beer tasted off and they argued (did get replacement) probably a dishwasher fault. Couldn't hear music due to shouting.

When I thought about celebrations, The Venue Bar was my first option .We were offered the VIP lounge, which was ours for the whole evening. The room was beautifly decorated, and cosy, even had a fire... lovley touch. Along with its own dance floor this is a must for any party. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding. Service was delightful and very professional, frequent visits from Dawn the manager to ask if all was well was another nice touch. 10/10
