   Staff don't tell you what to do once ordered food/drink. Meant to know. Bad system of queueing up and waiting in a line for drinks whilst other people coming in ( very congested with people as go in/out) not all tables full so would make sense to sit and be called or take a number

   After a visit to Starbucks first although in the back of our minds we were thinking of Costa all along, we walked into Starbucks to find it was smelly, dirty and no different from the bad past experience. We quickly walked out and around to Costa. The staff here and in other Costa's locally are very pleasant and welcoming. It was clean, tidy and we were served quickly, the staff kindly bought our order over to the table for us and the drinks were nice and hot, food was as expected for pastries. Costa always appears to me more friendly, cleaner and better laid out.

   Simple order 2 chai latte 2 hot chocale drinks a bar of chocalate and a ginger bread biscuit.. waited 10 mins for the second part of are order 2 hot chocolate drinks. Member of staff enquired why we were still waiting. Well you tell me we just paid you £20 for 4 drinks.

   Consistent quality of food and drinks in Costa. Easily accessible, whether via car (loads of car parking outside) bus (stops about 50m away) or via train (with New Brighton Station about 200m away). Decent size inside with around 80 seats for customers. Very friendly staff, as there always is. The rewards scanner wasn't working, which is rare. A great meeting place, with loads of choice of alternative bars, restaurants and coffee shops all along the promenade.

   Im not a massive coffee drinker so although the coffee was nice it was more than I would pay& seemed to go cold quite quickly meaning buying more... But that's personal preference. The staff were fantastic and atmosphere warm and friendly.

   No customers waiting or being served when we arrived, enough staff, but no one clearing dirty tables, several tables looked clear but needed a wipe down. The clean table we found had a dust pan and brush wedged by one of the seats. Food and drink was ok. But staff are pretty much absent. Busy spell just finished and they've all disappeared in the back again. Photo was a lie, no cleaning was happening.
