Ah, the local quintessentially British barber! After doing some local work, I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner of this rather unique establishment. I must admit, being of the older generation and being somewhat follicly (and perhaps ever so slightly mentally) challenged myself I’m not fortunate enough to make full use of the proprietor’s fine services. That said, the young gentleman who owns this fine business has a certain flair, charisma, and cheerfully cheeky charm about him. Watching a few of his clientele being attended to in such a professional and engaging manner was truly a sight to behold. It’s clear that everyone who walks through the door, young or old, leaves with a smile a real testament to the welcoming atmosphere and skill on display here.

I'm a middle aged woman with a short pixie cut. I had my long hair cut off 2 years ago and gave it to charity. Since then I've been to other hairdressers and barbers who could never seem to get a short cut right and still keep it feminine and modern. After the last absolutely hideous haircut I’d had elsewhere I decided enough was enough and plucked up the courage to call in to Black Sheep Barbers. I did feel a bit nervous as a woman walking into a man's barbershop, but I was greeted with a lovely welcoming smile from Dan as he listened very attentively to what I wanted.. WOW what can I say..this is the haircut I’ve been waiting 2 years for!!! Dan has cut it to absolute perfection, and still left my hair feminine in all the right places eg. around my ears, neck, fringe, crown area. I’m absolutely over the moon with my hair! The salon is modern with a friendly relaxed vibe but what sets it apart from other salons I’ve visited is how pristine and clean it all is. Also Dan really does set the standard by sanitising the cutting equipment/chair etc after each client. I’ve never seen this level of hygiene elsewhere! Dan is a very talented young man who is exceptionally good at what he does and clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. A week after my haircut my son also had his hair cut by Dan for the first time and is equally as pleased as I am. I highly recommend.

Dan is an amazing barber he always remembers that my grandson has a double crown and a cow flick and knows exactly how to work around these. My grandson is autistic but he is totally relaxed and happy when getting his hair cut with Dan.
