What can I say, I had never been before but went to see Santa Paws with my furry girl, friend and her dog. It was fantastic. Plus they look really dog friendly with food you can buy for them and their own bowls. So we are definitely going back and will eat there and see what the food is like.

Visited here a couple of times - its the most dog friendly pub we've visited. Fantastic dog and human menus. Tasty food, good service and spacious pub/restaurant. Also lovely canal walk nearby for before/after a mealm We'll definitely be back

A diamond of a pub. We ate today enjoying the sunday lunch and a steak. The Sunday lunch, beef option, was absolute top notch. The beef was cooked lovely and was a generous portion. With a fantastic choice of veg and more gravy when we asked. My personal taste is to have my meals piping hot and unfortunately it wasn't really hot but this is my personal preference so no compliant. The steak was cooked to perfection and although I wasn't sure about the very chunky chips they were delicious. Again personal preference is that a Peppercorn sauce should have a peppery kick it was very mild. Again not a complaint just my personal preference. Would highly recommend booking prior to visit as lots of people were unable to get seats due to it being, deservingly, very busy. Would definitely recommend.

WANDERING WEDNESDAY…. We have to add to our previous review as your only allowed 1 review on the website: Please see full reviews via date on Tripadvisor. *15th JUNE 2025 (Fathers Day) *11TH JUNE ON TRIPADVISOR WITH PHOTOS. 30TH APRIL 2025 Wandering Wednesday’ this week took both Hubby Neil and I to a new place….. ‘The Maltings’ which is just a couple of miles down the road….. I think we have been put off going, only because when it was ‘The Bewsey Farm’ many, many years ago, you’d walk in and your feet would stick to the floor!….. it’s definitely not the case now….. Set back from The Sankey Valley Canal, in amongst woodlands, this pub is a little cracker! It is renowned for being a ‘Dog friendly pub’…. They have outside and inside seating where dogs are not restricted in either. The pub looks spotlessly clean and with plenty of customers and some furry friends…… they even have a dog menu!…. Brilliant! We even learned that The Maltings and one of our favourite eateries ‘The White Hart’ are Sister pubs, so this will explain why the food was absolutely delicious, each dish was beautifully presented….. We went for starters today: Neil had Italian meatballs in Napoli sauce, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and served with garlic bread. I had: deep fried crispy battered squid, with zesty lemon mayo, served on a bed of baby gem lettuce and pea shoot garnish. For Entree’s Neil had Salt and pepper noodles, tossed in a Teriyaki sauce with peers and onions….. Topped with pan fried Salmon (or you can have the choice of chicken if you wish). I had the ‘Cluckin Hot’ which was two crispy buttermilk chicken fillets, paired with melted sliced cheese, drizzled with hot sauce mayo and garnished with spicy jalapeno’s…. I upgraded my fries to sweet potato fries tossed together with mixed peppers and onions, with a pot of coleslaw…… there was a lady and gentleman serving behind the bar as well as the food orders, very friendly, polite, attentive and courteous….. The food was amazing and we will 100% be going back…..I could kick myself for not trying this pub before now!!

The Maltings is a great place for an inexpensive meal that's well cooked and enjoyable and I've been there a few times to eat now. There's a decent menu with some non meat options too, though these were pretty standard pub offerings. It's clean, accessible for anyone with mobility issues ( though I didn't check out the accessible toilet, so can't comment on size for wheelchair users) and the staff are friend too. It's also dog friendly which I like but I know but everyone does. Worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for somewhere to eat

Nice, hidden pub. Great for families and dog walkers too. The food took a while to arrive, but it was tasty.

One of the best spot to be totally satisfied. This PUB has become one of families best go to PUB/Restaurant. Love the beer, steak - absolutely amazing well seasoned and amazing meat, also we love their burgers there which we always order - This comes with chips and a dip for the chips. The meat patties are just so delicious to eat and its super filling. My favorite is fosters beer there. People are very friendly and kind. They have rest rooms for everyone, wheelchair accessibility all around the area, it also has amazing parking spots in-front of it. Seatings are indoors and outdoors. Indoors are most of the time reserved but outdoors too. Have a check on the images .... Above anything else ... they are super DOG friendly ...
