Headingley branch of Wilkos is a fairly consistent disappointment these days. Their shelves are always understocked. Even the most basic items you'd expect from a homeware and hardware store are more often than not out of stock. They cater entirely for the student population of Headingley, or whatever they think it is that the student population want to buy. Whereas at one time you could guarantee that the store would sell the stationery item you needed, a spool of thread, some safety pins, a roll of masking tape, some gardening gloves, almost anything you want, now you go EXPECTING it to be out of stock and getting the same response from staff: 'well we just get things in for students now'. Does the manager really think 18 year olds are the only people who live in Headingley? Theyre not even the majority population. And surely even an 18 year old student occassionally needs a safety pin or a roll of tape. Absolutely useless shop that every now and again and quite unexpectedly has what you need. So long as that thing is a plastic storage box. But fair enough, if Wilkos dont want to boost their sales by appealing to the majority of the local population, then that's their business I guess. Useless shop. (This is no reflection in the staff on the floor who are just doing their job.)

Not good at maintaining stock levels, and it used to be decent place to buy things, but over the years wilkos is now not a decent place to shop at

Super friendly staff when I took my puppy in there. Yes, it's a dog friendly store. Yippee! I use Wilko's all the time for dog products, household items and stationery. Excellent quality and great value.

Very helpful staff in this branch. Bring a student area, most of the staff are part time and at Leeds university. They are all enthusiastic and friendly. Wish every branch of Wilko was as good!

This store is very nice, although it is not large, like some Wilko's, but it is not small either, with a large selection of items over two floors, so it is quite handy. The prices are also very reasonable and is close to bus stops going in both directions with a handy crossing close by.

Went to look at paints and home improvement things they had a great selection with testers for all their paints which I haven't found in their other branches. Found e everything I was looking for even items I was sure I would need to order online . Will see use this branch in future . Staff were polite and friendly too.

Usually love popping here as they have most things anyone should need from make up to stationary. The service is usually top notch and can’t knock the prices as they usually have some fantastic bargains. However today I was less than impressed with the service received from John who persisted on making a pregnant woman search the store for an item with a barcode as the one at the till didn’t have one on. John must have clearly forgotten that he was the employee of Wilkinson’s, and that he is the one being paid to assist customers. I’m hoping management see this review so they can re-train him on how to provide good customer service.

With parking at the top rear of the shop it is easy to access. The top floor is for decorating and final touches for rooms.there is a very steep set of steps to the ground floor.there is a lift but as there is only one staff member on the tills and none lingering around there is no one to help use it.the ground floor is a mixture of seasonal stuff, beauty products, household items, junk food and a small amount of childrens toys. Staff are always ready to help, should you ask.
