   I've just paid £31.10 for a pint of Guinness, a Baileys and two cokes for the kids. Am I missing something? She said it was £9 for the Baileys. The cokes were pints ( I didn't ask for pints). It's a lovely pub and the Christmas atmosphere was great, it was chocker at the bar. I'm just baffled at the price, was it a mistake???

   We popped in yesterday for a light bite at lunch time. We hadn't been in for some time and wondered if the food and ambience would still be as good. We were not disappointed! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel so very welcome, the staff (one lady who I think was the Land Lady/Manager) was so very kind. The food was excellent all fresh , cooked to perfection and very well presented. A lovely experience, Thank you! Wr will be back!

   We just had the MOST amazing meal here. Visiting from Chicago and saw they offer “Sunday Roasts”. Cannot even describe how delicious and plentiful it was. My husband had the beef roast and I opted for the chicken. Seriously unbelievable!! Protein, potatoes, green beans, carrots, cabbage, roll and gravy. A FEAST!!! They have the sweetest, coolest people working here! Very old pub with just the decor you expect. Giant shout out to Lorna, Tina, Bridie and the chef Phillip!! We are here for the week and are planning a third visit before we depart. Great beers, great people and magical food!! Phillip - are you available for adoption?!!!

   Awful. 30mins at the bar to be ignored while my partner sat in a corner. People served around me while creeps constantly went up to my partner. Bar staff had the hospitality and attention span of a spoon. They’d rather chat to their friends/regulars than acknowledge me. Don’t let this deter your trip to Chester however as every other establishment has been spot on but avoid this place like the plague.

   Lively place hidden up and away from the street below. Entertaining staff and locals. Apparently used to be the hangout for local notoriety a long time ago. Good selection of beers.
