   A true hidden secret on the outskirts of Chester, this pub holds a classic pub feel with a reasonable drink selection, plenty of seating with TVs for sports events. The Spital has a nice little outdoor section for smokers and Vapers alike. The staff are friendly and attentive offering suggestions for drunks to best suit you and your tastes, and for all of you dog lovers is pet friendly! The pub has its own Chester Leauge Darts team with some beautiful trophies on display and is one of the very few pubs in the UK to have a Bagatelle table a true classic pub game! A must visit if you're looking for a nice drink and are sick of the over commercialised pubs like Weatherspoons!

   Great pub, Andy and Kieran are very friendly and always happy to chat to you. I loved the drag queen night and I can’t wait for the next one to come. It’s an easy walk from town if you follow the canal. I always felt safe and welcomed and I couldn’t recommend it more! Drinks are cheap compared to other pubs and they make a perfect aperol spritz Grazie boys

   The guy behind bar needs lessons in customer service. No acknowledgement when entering pub, despite it being very quiet. Very cursory response when I said good evening. He was more interested in the laptop he was staring into on the bar. Did not feel welcome. Did not stay. Did not purchase anything.

   Tried a few times to visit this pub but always appears to be closed. Hours on here say 11 until 11, came at ten to four this afternoon, closed. Sign on door says opens at three, but closed. Assume the locals know when it is opening and the management are happy with that. It's a good walk to continually find it closed. Having never got there when it is open, can't say if it is good or bad but I would respectfully ask the owners / licencees to update their opening hours on here.

   brilliant pub and a hidden gem, the bar staff are nice and welcoming, great choice of drinks and even a bagatelle table and juke box, lovely décor and atmosphere, definitely would recommend.

   Fantastic old-school venue, filled with welcoming staff who deliver excellent customer service. All guests were friendly and cheery making a night to watch England evwn more exciting. Shame about the result but doesn't take away how good this place is. Free buffet at half tome too, excellent
