Arrived Saturday afternoon as a walk in was only 3 people sitting at the bar and 4 people at 1 table in the Dining Area! Was told they're fully booked and awaiting 80 people in 30mins but we could sit at the bar, ordered half a dozen Oysters was given the choice of 3 different Oysters and a background on the flavour. washed down with 2 glasses of Folinari. Oysters where okay on the smaller sizes and not so meaty! We left and no other people's arrived walked past 2hrs later on the way home still empty. Next time we'll book as it would have been nice to try the main restaurant menu

Went for a trio of family celebrations and it couldn’t have been better. The whipped cod’s roe on hash brown with caviar was exceptional, the king scallops in white port jus were perfectly cooked, and the lobster with garlic butter and fries was outstanding. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. A fantastic addition to Chester and already a stand-out choice for seafood lovers.

We’re not really seafood people but, as it was a special occasion (anniversary), we wanted to try something different. Oysters, bone marrow and cod roe to start proceedings. All good. Sea trout and skate wing for main. Amazing! Puds and dessert wines to finish. The friendly and informative waitress gave us a free glass of wine each for our special day. Really impressed. Seafood converts!

This is the best seafood I've had in the area, hands down. It's on par with what I've had in places like Saint-Malo and Loch Fyne. I started with the oysters, and the staff was super helpful if you've never had them before. Then I had the mussels, a nice half-kilo (ish) portion in an incredible broth. Although, I wish I could've ordered some bread to soak it all up. The grilled sardines were packed with flavor, and the beef dripping fries were a great side. I had it all with a pint of Damm Lemon, which is basically a perfect shandy. If the rest of the menu is this good, this place is a must-visit.

We had a lovely meal, it's an old fashioned pub thank goodness, not another trendy wine bar, snacks free on the bar at certain times , staff were brilliant. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

Great range of beers. Good service and tried the small plates tonight. Very good. If they can get a Scotch Egg right, that’s a good bellwether. Hope this place survives.

Great interesting food, good ambience, staff friendly, easy to chat to, genuine people. Menu was interesting - too interesting as I wanted more than one dish. No problem as I had three small dishes. I particularly liked the chips with truffle and the scotch egg. I have no connection with the company and do give harsh reviews, bit not for this!!!
