Called in on the spare of the moment for Sunday lunch, have to admit the landlady got us a table in a very busy pub,and she was very helpful, we all had the steak pie Sunday roast wich was red hot and a massive portion, best meal iv had out in a long time , I would fully recommend the cross keys above anywhere else , thank you .Arthur and family.

Absolutely stunning boozer, located in the heart of chester. The pub is cosy with many comfortable places to sit and has a wonderful grand warm fireplace. On tap they have a great selection of cask ales brewed at Joules brewing from Shropshire. The bartender was great and offered to give tasters of each of the cask beers. I highly recommend this boozer and could easily spend a evening there next to the fire.

Was recommended to us by the caravan site owner nice friendly bar staff a typical olde world pub with charm. What was a nice touch which I haven't seen for years is was a plater of sandwiches on the bar for customers to eat while enjoying their beer glad we tried.

Fantastic beers, tasty pork pies and a great friendly pub with good decor. Also, an amazingly good function room available upstairs too.

I love the Joule's pub chain. Very small but perfectly formed. Great beer. Flat first came here about 43 years ago when it was a medicore Whitbresd (?) pub. Since Joules took over it has been a great pub. Small sun trap patio to front. Lovely interior. Great real ale. Pies sold for scoobies..bit microwaved but tasty. Ic n Flic loved their beer.

We held a charity event at the upstairs room at The Cross Keys at the weekend in support of The Brain Tumour Charity. We had such a warm welcome and were really well looked after. Great venue, Jane was really flexible and I would definitely recommend it. We will be returning when we organise our next one!

Quite possibly the best pub in Chester. Their Sunday lunch is one of the best in the area having tried many in and around Chester, full of flavour, excellent value and even nicer when complimented with the joules beers available. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch or just for beer.
