My daughter has attended at this nursery for 3 years now, she is always so happy to come in to the settings! We have always had a lovely experience with the staff team! They’re very friendly, caring and supportive. My child has learned so much during this time with them! Would definitely recommend to everyone! The nursery looks so nice and clean.. and the outside area looks great too. I’m so grateful for this lovely team. Xx

Unfortunately, there were problems with Woodlands from the get-go, right up until the very end, from false promises, insane pricing, misinformation, poor internal communication and just not keeping us informed with their specific term times as they should. We were promised meals for £6.00 a day also, this had come as an initial shock to us, coming from a preschool which did not have a daily fee for meals, but with the current climate and cost of living, we made our peace with this. However upon receiving our first invoice which revealed it is not in fact £6.00 per day, but £19.00. Having budgeted around childcare and other expenses, this additional surprise was not exactly welcomed. Again, this was not communicated by the team or manager (who had made the initial promise.) and was only advised from the finance team. A running theme you will find is the finance team and preschool team do not exactly communicate very well as the preschool either does not know or directs the parents to speak with the finance team, even whilst offering prices. And to top it off, for our daughter this £19.00 only covered 1 meal and a snack per day. This is due to the agreement we could only bring our daughter in from 09:30 – 15:30. So every day, my daughter would tell me she would watch all the other children go off for their other meal, and she was not allowed to have this. They couldn’t seem to wrap their mind around the fact this is not just cruel but an ludicrous price to spend for a single meal that most of us wouldn’t spend on ourselves per day. This leads to their poor organisation and informing of parents regarding the term times. We had never been given a calendar directly from the preschool and were just informed they go by Trafford school term times. Wonderful, straight onto Trafford.gov.uk website, all the terms times are laid out, we book our time off accordingly. Only to be informed last second, “your child won’t be attending this week as it’s still half term.” We proceed to check the website, no it isn’t, it states clear as day they come back today. “Oh, actually, we follow the local schools term times who are off another week.” Brilliant, did anyone think to inform us, or provide us with their calendar? No. I specifically requested the calendar that they use and go by so we can accurately book our time accordingly, they could not provide this, and we were once again just directed to the finance team, who were finally able to give us the calendar. This basically makes the Trafford.gov.uk website vague at best since the schools follow their own calendar, and subsequently so do the preschools. Even until her final day, after giving more than a month’s notice of leaving, we were still told a “Fee” may still need to be paid. This is after already receiving the August invoice of £0. They must have incorrectly assumed we would be attending outside of term time (despite only attending during term time being the only agreement they said they could offer us under 30-hour funding.) So right until the very end, just miscommunication, and only focused on one thing. Money. Not welfare of children, not peace of mind of parents. Money, plain and simple. I really wish I had more positives to say on our time with Woodlands, they do seem to have the potential and facilities for a brilliant and nurturing setting, most staff did seem lovely as people, especially Emma as a highlight and our daughters key worker Becca, however they just need to better communicate with parents and their own finance team, allow themselves some empathy for how difficult it is for working parents to move things around and budget and perhaps find a way to provide mor I hope everyone else can gain some insight from our experience and they will rectify some of these issues in the future, however sadly these were not resolved during our time there and they seemed most unsympathetic to anything raised whilst there Due to character limit, full complaint forwarded to Elmscot.

Couldnt recommend highly enough. Cared for both my children to the highest standards. My eldest loved every day at nursery and was so well cared for. The nursery cared for him from being a baby till he went to school, which they prepared him for so well. Didn't even think twice about enrolling my youngest based on our previous experience and he too is loving every minute. Great staff, great extra curricular activities and a great food menu. Thanks everyone at Woodlands.

Signed up our baby months in advance based on good reviews however after a couple of settling in sessions we quickly realised it wasn’t for us. I felt our baby didn’t get much care during her few hours there when she needed it most when getting used to the place. I even got a reply that they didn’t have time when I offered to stay with her for a bit longer to help her settle in. We found another nursery and she’s been so much better there. Also Woodlands is not very flexible with methods of payment, deposit etc which I thought might be a standard but turns out other nurseries are much better with that too!

Woodlands is fantastic place with well trained staff and great facilities creating the right environment for wee ones to develop. Our son loves the otters and always has exciting stories to tell about the activities he’s been doing. We would highly recommend woodlands nursery.

I only have praise for Woodlands. All staff are fantastic and do so many great activities every day with our little boy who loves going to nursery. The nursery also organises all sorts of useful things for parents like first aid courses, sleep clinics etc. They make a real effort to teach kids about all the different cultures of the children there which is great. Woodlands is an outstanding nursery and I’ll be send my second child here too.
