   Essential rock venue near to the River Mersey at Woodside Birkenhead. Great venue for live free entry rock and some metal gigs. I m not a drinker so can't comment on choice of beers but it's a great small venue big enough to breath and enjoy the real rock n roll vibes there. Toilets are however true rock n roll I guess and smell shockingly bad but hey many a rock venue I ve been to over the years have been little better. Anyway the Swinging Arm offer loads of regular free entry of mainly decent rock covers bands and hard rock cafe meets sunset strip type vibes.expect big big beards, tattoo s and hair. Yeah recommended for rockers

   What a Sunday treat,great and varied live music,excellent beer (Titanic Plum Porter for me) and very friendly staff.Really good atmosphere,the pub has wonderful views over the Mersey and due to its location has a refreshingly "away from it all" feel. Escape from it all for a few hours at The Swinging Arm.
