1. Some Thing ★☆☆☆☆

   INTO Manchester is a place that has gathered an insane number of awful things that ultimately affect your future. I strongly do not recommend this place for studying — look for absolutely any other option instead! This “educational complex” is supposed to teach you something equivalent to an A Level standard. However, when it comes to actual education, most of the teachers you might have are people who, frankly speaking, have not really succeeded in their own professional careers — teachers, lecturers, or whatever else (nothing personal; one of them told me this themselves). They have no real idea how to teach properly (with a few rare exceptions). Instead, they just come to class, read the material — the same material you could easily learn by yourself at home — and then leave. They tell you to do “self-study”, which makes me wonder — why even create a school-like system with all its rules, but make the academic content almost as hard as university-level material? You’re forced to follow strict rules during lessons — you can’t even touch your phone — and if you miss one or two lessons per week, they immediately call you for a “meeting” and give you a warning. They have also managed to create a terrible grading system. The first-semester exam counts for just 10% of your total mark, while the final exam counts for 70%. I have never seen such a system anywhere else. Supposedly, these exams are based on what you’ve learned, but in reality, without intense self-preparation at home, it’s almost impossible to score more than 50%. The marking is completely absurd — about 90% of the questions are open-ended, and you have to literally write down everything. By “everything”, I mean every single step, every calculation, every small detail — otherwise, you lose marks. As a result, only around 30–40 students out of about 1,300 end up getting into good universities and good courses — and even then, it’s mostly not thanks to INTO, but because those students already had a strong academic background. If you still decide to make this disastrous mistake that you’ll regret later, at least don’t start in January — that will be the biggest mistake of your life. Remember: don’t trust your agents, Instagram ads, or other marketing tricks. Most of the “positive” reviews are written by students who were forced to do it at the start of their course. They simply advertise it well, but the reality inside is completely different.

   Absolutely the worst experience of my life – INTO Manchester is a disaster. They constantly challenge students instead of supporting them, almost as if they want you to fail. It is designed to take your money while giving you nothing in return. The teachers are unhelpful, the staff are disorganized, and when you ask for support, you get ignored or dismissed. The environment is stressful, toxic, and discouraging. I wasted one year of my life here, and it set me back instead of moving me forward. If you value your time, your future, and your mental health, stay far away from INTO Manchester. Trust me..

   This institution has a lot of great qualities about it. I was lucky enough to get great teachers for my subjects, but some got worse ones. The people you meet here are amazing and fun, this year is an experience i won’t forget. Only problem was our final exams where NCUK made the chemistry exam very hard that almost everyone got a bad mark. I’d say consider this for your foundation year but you should also consider the universities own foundation year as it could be easier and would actually guarantee you a spot there.

   It is really the very first time I have written a review on Google about an institution. I just completed my Foundation Year at INTO Manchester and I am getting into the University of Manchester with a set of satisfied grades. I want to share my 9-month journey experience at this college, my review is from my personal experience as an international student who came to the UK alone to study. 1. Teachers I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and RCS. All of my teachers were super supportive and some of them were always seeking questions from students, especially I was impressed with my RCS teacher because I was not into academic writing at first but she really motivated me and she did amazing work. 2. Community I did not have many close friends at INTO but all the people I knew while studying here were nice. My course was 9 months only so I did not expect to have many close friends but the whole community at INTO was friendly and I did not feel separated at all though there are not many students from my home country at INTO Manchester. 3. Organisation and facilities INTO Manchester is not a university so I cannot compare its size to UOM or any universities. INTO provides all necessary services from printing, sports clubs, placement team (really helpful with the application, I used to have a 1-1 appointment every week with them during the busiest time of application), on-site cafe, library, etc Above all, I got into UOM and a lot of my friends also got into UOM, some of them got into the University of Edinburgh or other high-ranked universities in STEM majors. I appreciate INTO for supporting me for nearly 1 year and so far do not regret my decision to study a Foundation Year there.

   To be honest, it’s a bad study institution, their study website keeps failing, some staffs and teachers are rude, timetable keeps changing and they notify you on the last second, just minutes before the lesson or even not notifying. Instructions aren’t clear, three assignments and courseworks are mentioned and needs to be due just in a week. One of my teachers didn’t even mention the assignment. They just assume you to check their learning website vle which can sometimes be down. The management of this institution is literally a mess and I would not recommend.

   I was planning to take a pre masters 6 months course but after reading the comments i became hesitant and i asked INTO MANCHESTER to send me the modules of what i will study exactly. and just like i expected no answer was given and they said i need to pay and start the course, then they will decide what modules i will take. which i did not appreciate. I also called the University of Manchester where i am planning to take my masters degree in September and they said “we don’t look at the pre master when you apply, it is not necessary and doesn’t add value to your application.” And with all INTO MANCHESTER uncertainty i decided not to proceed with the pre masters.

   I will start my review by saying if you have the chance to study a foundation year in the university go for it, studying with into is like doing Alevels but with more pressure since it is one year and an awful grading system. My personal experience wasn’t the best I would say they are supportive in terms of well being and the tutors are really nice and always willing to help but nothing more. Also when you get your grades you have to wait for the university to accept you just like any other student who applies with their Alevels so if you fail you are not likely to get accepted anywhere and will have to resit and apply the following year. I was told I can’t be accepted in any university by the placement team even though I told them I have extra AS levels they didn’t provide any help and Just told me to apply for an international year one again at into and I had to apply to universities myself, I almost lost hope because of what I was told but surprisingly a lot of universities were willing to offer me a place when combining both qualifications together. In conclusion it isn’t the worst experience but I suggest doing a research first and see if this is where you want to study and you are sure you can put the effort and time to succeed in your examinations.

   Did my foundation year in Science and Engineering at INTO Manchester. At first, I didn’t know what to expect as the teaching style and environment in the UK is much different as compared to your home country. However, the staffs and academic teachers were professional and helpful which made you feel at home. If you have any questions, feel free to voice out your concerns, I am certain they will be more than willing to help. INTO Manchester will go an extra mile to assist students on achieving their desired grades and their desired choice of University Course! Based on my personal experience, I would strongly recommend new students to start their higher education journey at INTO Manchester!

   The first and the longest review ever for Art & Design International Foundation at INTO Manchester. Note: This review is based on my experience as a January intake student. 1. The course content: - I received a detailed outline for each project and the tutors were catching up on me as well as the project daily/weekly. - Most of the course duration will be independent study (obviously). I received an MMU card to access the library 24/7 & all workshops which are making me become a part of MMU while studying at INTO. - Each project will have specific purposes and outcomes, recommendations, and experimentation requirements which is to make the not too hard to manage. - My EAP teacher is the best English teacher I have ever had so far. It is for me to know and for you to find out. 2. The facilities: - Free software and Mac for study purposes. As I said, I can be able to access all the workshops and libraries at MMU. For further information and comparison, please search for youtube videos. - Independent studio space is a huge plus for the course. 3. How I feel after finishing my course at INTO Manchester: - I wanted to share my thought on the 1-star rates for INTO Manchester. Yes. I confirmed that there are some ungrateful moments during the course at INTO Manchester campus. However, whenever something went wrong with you during the course (your tutors, timetable, accommodation, classmates, etc) there are staffs at the Welfare team and the receptionists to help you out. INTO, our high school or universities are just a microcosm of society where we are living in, we can’t ask everybody to behave politely. All you can do is stand up and speak up. That is what I did is gave specific feedback with “proves” and “facts”. After that, everything was fixed. - I made new friends, not just in my course but also in other courses. I love my tutors so much. Only from the academic perspective, the course is perfect for me. 4. Last but not least: To clear my point of view, I meet and talk with some of the staff at INTO Manchester. They are so thoughtful and nice to me. The reason I write this review is simply that I don’t want negative reviews and complaints about INTO ruining the image of the school and what a lot of people behind the brand are trying to build. I believe INTO takes all of the issues people mentioned in the 1-star reviews very seriously if you reported them during the course.
