    I had a puncture in my tyre and went to Halfords to get it repaired. They said they couldn’t fix it because the tread was worn on the inside, and told me I would need two new tyres and wheel alignment, claiming the uneven wear was due to poor wheel alignment I asked a mate for a second opinion, and he recommended Pemberton Tyres instead. At Pemberton, they replaced my tyre and diagnosed a mechanical problem - the lower wishbone was causing a clunk when steering. They advised me to get it fixed at J W Gaskell first, and then return to check if alignment was needed. After getting the lower wishbone repaired, I went back to Pemberton who checked the alignment and it was perfectly fine. In short, Halfords told me I needed two tyres changing and wheel alignment, but in reality, I only needed one new tyre and no alignment. I would have wasted £175 for nothing if I hadn’t sought a second opinion. Won't be trusting Halfords again. I'd recommend Pemberton Tyres and J W Gaskell instead.

    Was told I needed two new tyres yesterday . Pads and discs recommended. I chose budget tyres , alignment and pads. On checking the bill I had also been charged for tyre warranty for the 2 tyres. Went back today. Was told the warranty was free. However I had been charged for it. Member of staff was unable to give me a refund but requested a refund for me. Would hope this is processed soon please.

    Hubby called today to have a puncture repair done to his rear wheel run flat tyre. They didn't even look at his tyre but said "new tyre" right away. The AA man had done a temporary repair on it this morning and said it would repair without a problem. Hubby then took it to Pemberton Tyres and it was repaired within 15 mins for £15!.. National Tyre you are a disgrace. If I could have given you no stars I would have done.

    I chose NTS North West from the mobile tyre fitting services I viewed online for Stockport area. The website was user friendly, the prices very competitive and when I rang them to ask a few questions they were very helpful. I booked my tyre fitting on the Thursday for a Saturday morning fit, as I live on a busy road. The booking was between 8:30 and 12:30. At 09:10 I got a call on my mobile to say that they would be with me in 20 mins. The fitter who did my tyre was courteous and efficient and did a great job. I was able to ring the depot and pay by card and back on the road by 10:15. It can't get much better than that!

    Feel like i have been scammed, i popped into my local branch today(Skelmersdale) as i had the unfortunate thing of a blowout happen on the motorway. The gent i dealt with got my tyre size and took me into the office to show me the pricing. He gave me a price for the premium, mid range and budget and suggested the midrange. He suggested that i should get the passenger side done aswel as it was not road legal, he gave me a price and i asked him if that was the price for both fitted and he told me yes. I agreed to have them both fitted and offered to pay there and then and he said to pay when they were fitted. I had my family in the car and they fitted them, then i was asked to pop back into the reception to pay. He took some details and then told me the price which was double what he had quoted, i asked him if that was correct as he had given me a price before fitting, he told me he had made a mistake and he had only given me the price for one tyre after i specifically asked him to make sure if that was the price for both tyres before agreeing to fit both. I asked if they would get there manager (Dave)to see what he could do. He looked at something on his computer and told me it was correct, i said to him i feel like you are trying to rip me off as you have fitted both tyres after agreeing a price and now have doubled your price. Did they do this to get me in this situation of having both fitted so i would pretty much be forced to get both. This manager said you can put your old one back on after these ‘professionals’ have told me it is not road legal. How bad does that look that hes telling me to drive away on something dangerous. I asked if there was anything they could do with the price as money is tough as everyone knows and stone faced he said no. This was over £200 pounds and i ended up paying as my family was in the car and i needed to get the kids home. I checked the receipt that was given too me and it says that you can split the payment when its over £200, again no mention of that at the time, all they wanted was the cash there and then. I will never use them again and i will tell everybody that i know to avoid them at all costs also.
