I use this daily, staff are really friendly and its a decent size corner shop so has most of the items you need. Has a fresh bakery section, coffee and slushie machine, ready meals, raw ingredients like meat, fruit and veg etc
Every time I enter the shop, which is very local to me, the staff are very rude and unwelcoming. They stare at you and make you feel very uncomfortable. We now choose to travel further even if we only need a few things.
Just as you read with many other branches of co-op, same has been my experience at this one that, as soon as you are in you may be profiled as a likely shoplifter for which security literally will follow and watch you! Absolutely ridiculous techniques. Also very often there's no-one at the till.
I have noticed a change in the service at the Co-op regarding parcel acceptance. On multiple occasions, regardless of time of day, I've been informed that they cannot take in my parcels or that they have reached their capacity for the day. I believe it would be beneficial for Co-op to reassess their partnerships with some delivery companies to ensure they are equipped to handle the demand effectively. This issue is affecting many individuals, particularly those with small businesses who rely on these services. Addressing this concern could enhance the overall customer experience and support local entrepreneurs.
Great opening hours, as a customer service advisor I would suggest that, while important, stocking shelves should not take priority over serving customers. The person on the till should not have to ring a bell to get help when a que forms, serving the public should take priority and those needs should be noticed by other members of staff!
Obviously with me being upper class and very posh I don't usually mix with normal folk, but this store was adequate. I managed to purchase a large cucumber but their selection of Caviar is very limited.
Lovely shop with friendly staff, selling all the basics. Definitely recommend visting. The student discount get them another star!
I have usually been very impressessed with all the staff at the Shirley branch of the Coop. However, when I visited the story just after opening today I was disgusted to see how another staff member was treating a member of the checkout staff. Firstly, if there is an operational issue regarding shifts then this should be discussed behind closed does,. Secondly, do not say things like "ok I will change it, its not worth the hassle". Thirdly, it made me feel awkward as I could see the member of checkout staff was a little upset at the way they had been spoken to. For me this highlights a potential culture of bullying at the store which I hope is not the case. This review is no reflection on the 99% of staff who have been fantastic and worked very diligently throught an extremely challenging times. I've never left a Google review but this situation bugged me to the extent I felt I had to speak out. If I witness anything like this again, I will be complaining to head office.
Fantastic local corner shop with all of the basic necessaries. Obviously prices are fairly more expensive in comparison to larger supermarkets however with the company operating across the country prices are reasonable. Wide range of stock and friendly staff. Ques are often slightly longer than would like but nothing too significant.
Had to go in here this morning 14/5/18 unfortunately. the boss woman stormed past me to shout at the lady on the till, completely unprofessional and i felt very uncomfortable- this made the lady then quite nervous so as she packed my bags she forgot one of my items - i would try to avoid as much as poss as its also expensive.
