   Dangerous lorry drivers - Transport Manager doesn’t care. On 7th March 2025 I emailed their Transport Manager to let him know that one of their drivers had driven in an extremely dangerous manner, far below the standard of a professional HGV driver, on a narrow country road when I was out cycling. I gave full details of the time, location and description of their vehicle. He replied really quickly stating “Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to my attention. I take incidents like this very seriously, and I have already begun an inquiry into the complaint. I will be reviewing our vehicle records and speaking with the relevant driver to establish exactly what happened. Safety is a top priority for us, and I appreciate the detailed account you have provided. I will update you once I have more information” When I hadn’t had a further update after 5 weeks I emailed again, still no reply, and so now after 2 ½ months, I can only assume that he hasn’t really bothered to investigate it.

   Really bad experience - ordered materials on Thursday for use at weekend, was told they would be delivered on Friday am, no contact from them to advise otherwise, and no delivery. I called them on Saturday to be told that they would call me back in 15 mins, they did not so I called again, was then told they had no record of my order (they did find that 1.5hrs later) when I called yet again. Was then told they had two wagons off the road and that they could deliver on Monday. I wont be using again as they clearly have no idea of customer service - they could have informed me they had lost 2 wagons with a quick call but did not - they also could have called me back as they promised but did not.

   What a great builders merchant. During the summer holidays I had a couple of DIY jobs to do around the house and for a neighbour. Firstly I ordered decking material which was delivered at 8:00am the next day! The delivery driver was helpful and managed to put it down the side of the house. A week later I went to discuss a patio project. The helpful staff suggested Indian Stone and after measuring up I ordered 3 different slab sizes along with 2 1 tonne bags of sand and limestone clippings. Delivery (which is free) came 2 days later and again, the friendly driver ensured that the items were left so as not to cause any inconvenience. I cannot speak more highly of this company. Quality products at good prices, excellent polite and knowledgeable staff with a fab delivery service.
