£80 charged for an hour of work checking the brake noise, engine oil change and oil filter change. The noise is still there and the plastic under the oil filer is hanging. Even failed to mention VAT added which ended up with £96. This is only for labour as I provided him with the parts.

I no longer drive due to medical issues but I used J J Motors for the last 4 to 5 years of my driving career and would always recommend them - very reasonable in price and did a good and professional job regarding service and MOT - I learned that it is much better to go to a private mechanic than to use a big company

Had a turbo fitted at JJ motors around a month ago, and got to be honest about it. John was one of my most trusted garages to go to however, this job turned out to be a nightmare. Dropped the car off to him on Thursday and he appeared to have a nightmare getting the turbo off the car. Friday, he managed to get the turbo off but required a new oil feed line which he said he was not able to get till Monday so i made a few calls, and arranged a part to be sent to him. I had a new oil sump fitted to the car prior to giving John the car, not sure how but the Sump magically got a hairline crack. John had no idea how this had happened, but apparently it happened on it's own, So also had to purchase a new oil sump! John had some issues with an oil leak with the new sump but sorted this and i went over to collect the car on Saturday Morning. Once the car was started, i went for a test drive and i appeared to have no boost and a horrible sound. went back straight away and John could not diagnose the issue correctly, he said it was the Vacuum solenoid at fault. it was getting to his closing time on a Saturday so he wanted to start packing up, so i handed over the money, which was double what he originally quoted me due to the cracked sump oil feed line and extra labour time spent on the car. I then left the garage with no turbo and had to drive from Westhoughton to Preston at 30mph as the car was in limp mode. This was not safe at all, as the car was smoking and had to join dual carriageways which were 70mph! Took the car to my local garage who diagnosed the problem straight away. Did not really want to write this review, but i have to be honest about my experience, the only positive i got from this is, John advised he knocked me some money off for some labor hours as he spent a lot of time on the car.
