   My wife has an E89 and is very happy with it. A year old in 2017 and it’s never missed a beat…until one day she came home and the windows were down and the roof would not lock closed. ‘Oh Bollox’ now what. No one would touch it and BMW wanted a kidney and a spleen to fix it! Bit of google research and came across Mike at the Z Shed. Said he had time tomorrow after lunch, kin great news. Put a waterproof cover on it overnight and set off from Norfolk very early, with a hat and gloves. Forgot about ear plugs, fool! (For 4 hours the pinging noise above 25 mph really gets on your tits!) Arrived, met Mike, a man of few words. Broken wire (a solid wire which eventually breaks over time by being bent with the roof opening and closing). A replacement multi strand silicone coated set were fitted to the side that was broken. £130 later and I’m on my way home windows up, heater on and no tinnitus. Result…six weeks later…the same again, this time it was raining on the way up. A wire had been earthing out causing an open circuit. Mike did a temporary repair, and I booked it in to have a replacement package which he offers. Mike really does know Z4s like the back of his hands!! £40 and see you next week. His prices are more than fair and he’s sound!! The wife went up this time £300 and all sorted! It’s been a while now and to date it’s been faultless. Thank you Mike and your apprentice for the sterling work! If you have any issues with the roof of your Z4 then go see Mike, he knows his shit and won’t rip you off!! Merry Christmas Z Shed!!

   I have been using Mike @ Zed Shed for quite a few years now for the maintenance of my Z4 coupe. Unfortunately, I had to sell it in the Spring because I've just had 2 new hips & it was too low. I now drive an Alfa Romeo Stelvio & Mike has just done a service, Serpentine Belt change & sorted out an oil leak which was caused by the shoddy workmanship of an Alfa main dealer. He is extremely knowledgeable, has a "can do" attitude & is an all round great guy. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Absolutely brilliant !!

   Travelled all the way from Scotland to have repairs done on 2004 Z4, overheating and hood not working, despite the car not looking the best Mike diagnosed the problems and fixed with no problem, also did a couple of extra jobs for us. We were very impressed with the service, Mike was great good crack and the apprentice Jay went out of his way to help us. Would highly recommend

   One year on...I’m pleased to share my experience with Mike and his team (including, I believe, his apprentice, Luke) who repaired the roof of my Z4 E89 on 4Jan2024. Roof repairs are complex and require intricate rewiring, but Mike handled the job expertly, using reinforced hydraulic tubes on both sides that appear to be stronger than the originals. The pricing was very reasonable, especially compared to a BMW dealership, and most importantly, a year later, the roof is still functioning perfectly. If you're traveling from further afield (I came up from London), I’d highly recommend combining the repair with a 2–3 day visit to Liverpool. It’s a fantastic city and well worth exploring while your car gets the attention it needs. Thanks Pete

   Drove 2 hrs from the Midlands for some preventative TLC on my 06 z4 before a trip to the Alps. Replaced water pump, vanos solenoids and window regulator - spotted front pads were low so replaced them too. All fitted for not much more than I could probably source the parts for. Well worth the drive. Wetherspoons nearby so kept myself out the way for a couple of hours with a breakfast and bottomless coffee.

   Visited Mike due to his reputation within the Z4 community and I was not disappointed. My E85 Z4M is running better than ever. A properly performed inspection 2 at a reasonable price. Having previously trusted my car to a very renowned specialist in Bredbury (very disappointing). The service here couldn’t of been more different. Great communication, several calls, images and videos. Highly recommend!!

   Our Z4 power hood stopped working. The symptoms were exactly as Mike described on his Website. He kindly booked me in for the next Saturday He started the job promptly and finished in the estimated time. A brilliant repair and relocation of the hydraulic pump which operates the hood. I was really impressed with the quality of the work and the price was very reasonable. He is an absolute mine of information on the Z4. If your hood has stopped working or any other Z4 problems, The Zed Shed is the place to go, you'll not find better, he's a proper star.
