   Had a service December 2018 as part of my first service on a very expensive Service plan. All seemed to go smoothly until my car was billowing black smoke out of the exhaust when started the next day (it might have been doing this the night I picked it up but being dark I wouldn't have seen). My car was serviced on a Wednesday and Friday my car cut off in the middle of driving down a dangerous country lane junction with cars coming at high speeds. The car wouldn't restart so I had to phone the break down (luckily) included in the service plan. At the road side the AA guy opened my bonnet to find oil everywhere because the oil had clearly been over filled. After abandoning my car at a closed Ford with the aid of a lovely AA guy who went above and beyond, I returned home to an oil stain on my less than 12 month old driveway. I wish this was the end and I could say that the managers at Ford held their hands up to admit it was their error and they would get it fixed asap. Nope. I was told no one would look at it until Monday despite them having servicing on Saturday's. After pushing to get the car looked at and 'diagnosed' it was on the Saturday but nothing could be done about it until the Monday. Monday came and they in a round about the houses but never directly saying it admitted that the engine had too much oil in it. I was never told how this happened, it was a mystery according to them. On my dash cam footage a conversation between the service manager and service engineer they admitted that the engineer had filled the car with oil and then the apprentice did. My car had double the oil in it's engine. They must have realised their error as my dash cam cut off and other movement of the vehicle during its stay. There was no footage of them driving the car on any public road despite eventually requesting permission to do so. Meaning that they unplugged my dashcam. When I tried to raise a complaint with them it continually got passed back to the same manager instead of being escalated above him. Stay clear or double/triple check the car when you get it back. Update Nov 2025: After the above incident I requested a 'right of erasure' under gdpr to stop the junk they kept sending. Now several years later they are using my details again and passing to Rhino group for an event they are having.

   My car broke down. Again after I received it from them. A few days. I told them the car. Not ready. And they said don't worry. Your car is fine. Try to reassure me. I took her to Manchester. And halfway there. The car stopped. All the engine oil came down. I don't know what to say. Are they really specialists? Or are they. Just trainees who know nothing. In Maintenance

   I've used St helens ford every year for servicing/mot since buying my car and this year I booked it online and it didn't give me a price for a minor service. I then got an e mail to say £506 then was adding further things on they thought I would need. What an absolute rip off. Its doubled in price since last year and ive done less that 20 thousand and my car is 6. Extortionate prices.
