Nothing wrong with the conveyancer, but her secretary was beyond rude. Had to do a lot of running about myself to get things done. I was told I didn't need searches done, then I received a letter saying I had to sign to say I'd gone against their advice. I had to pay stamp duty I was told they'd get it back for me once my other property had sold. Now they say they don't help in stamp duty rebates. I would recommend avoiding this company like the plague.
Called today to ask for a solicitor to witness a signature as part of a commercial agreement as a Statutory Declaration. The solicitor is not required to work in commercial law. It can be a commissioner for oaths or a solicitor empowered to administer oaths. I spoke with a lady on the phone who firstly said that they didn't have a commercial solicitor. I explained what I have written above and she said they don't actually have a solicitor. I asked again, because surely a solicitors would have solicitors but she confirmed they don't have a solicitor.
Fantastic service from Lianne who took over our conveyancing after a miserable and stressful experience with Kirkhams (pushed by HOME - avoid them). Anyway, she was friendly and helpful and got us caught up with our buyers, so all went smoothly. She pointed out issues with our purchase and always responded promptly to any questions or concerns. Great team, highly recommended.
I wasn't even a client of theirs and I was impressed with how they handled it compared to how my own solicitors at a big firm handled it. I could tell that from talking to the vendor, this firm was really good, and crucially, they allow an in person visit as well as a specific case handler, dealing with everything. That really helps. That was quite different to my firm where they were a lot slower. They were that impressive that I thought that I'll consider using them myself should I need to in the future

Our buying and selling experience was very bumpy, however delays were caused by the other parties and Garratts were quick and efficient where possible which help speed the process along. I was impressed by Garratts efficiency and all though the process was very stressful I could see that they were doing everything that they could to help the purchase and sale of our homes complete. At the end before exchange Lianne hall our conveyancer was batting away all obstacles the other parties threw at us to ensure we eventually moved on the final completion date that we put forward, she was very efficient in calculating the final bills and transferring the monies due back to us at the end of the sale. Our experience wasn't great but Garratts were trying everything to help us and eventually it paid off, if we had had a less efficient conveyancer we may not have even been able to complete the purchase and sale.
Used this company in the sale of my property have to say Leanne Hall and kirstie are an amazing team, they kept us up to date every step of the way and were very professional explaining the legalities of conveyancing , I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them or using them again in the future. in fact I have recommended them to my friend who is now using them too , keep up the good work you are an asset to Garretts solicitors.
I recently purchased a new house with Lianne, from offer to completion was 2 1/2 weeks!!!
