   I was asked by a friend to look out for a small car for around £1,000 just to get her to work and back. I spotted a Silver Vauxhall Corsa outside Automans in Halton Widnes within her price range. I called my friend and she said it sounded good and could I get some more details, that she could look at it with a view to purchasing it later that day or tomorrow. I entered the garage and politely shouted hello, and then spotted two staff having a brew. I asked if they could give me some information about the car I had spotted as a friend was interested. I was then looked at very peculiarly and then one of the blokes said to me "Like what?" In a sarcastic voice. I was quite taken back by this response. My reply was does it have a full MOT?, Any TAX, What is the engine size? and Has it any service history? Useful information that help determine a purchase. (No info. was listed on the window of the car). The employees response was we don't know and we are not sure where the paperwork for the car is. Somehow I was not surprised as it meant they had to get off their seats and do something. So I said don't bother yourselves I shall look elsewhere for a car. My friend bought a car 2 days later and ended up spending way over her £1,000 budget. So my advice to anyone out there looking to purchase a car is to find a garage that is willing to show you all the details of the car in order to win your purchase. Just imagine how much this garage loses? No wonder the same cars sit their for months on end. Mike.
