New owners don't have a clue cash machine never works one of the staff can't speak English well absolute shambles
Unfortunately the lady who is ‘in charge’ at the post office has a serious attitude! Everything was a problem. Wouldn’t let me pay coins into my account which I had previously done, and then continued to grill me about staff member who previously ‘allowed me to do this’ and I was quick taken aback in the manor in which she tried to get this information from me. My little boy was being a little difficult while I was trying to sort all this and the whole way through both parts of my visit she was very blunt and had absolutely no customer service skills. Before I’d even got to the desk initially she very abruptly told me I had to wait behind the line (there was a man around the corner filling in a form which I could not see) but she was waiting at the other side of the desk down my isle so I assumed she was serving as she was not interacting with this man. Whole experience was very unpleasant, unpleasant enough for me to write this review. I feel sorry for the staff that work under this lady. (I’ve previously been on other occasions and both ladies I’ve seen in there have been very friendly and helpful).
Having been my local shop for over a year, this morning was my last trip. Whoever the rude little Asian man is on the till today I hope someone drags him over that counter as I was tempted but I had my little boy with me. Serving an old man in front who was trying to find something but couldn’t and getting an earful from the man behind the till for not listening properly and coming back the long way to the till. Maybe his hearing isn’t what it used to be or maybe he’s not as fast as he wants to be or was in his younger years. Then has the brass neck to look at me and say “the amount of faffing people do in here is unreal” Wow! I was taught to respect older people by my grandad as without them we wouldn’t exist! Little sour men like you might just about make it to old age although it’s unlikely with that attitude, so you need to remember you might be a bit slower one day too! I’ll never give this shop another penny. I’d rather drive to Newark. If you’re the owner, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you’re just a shop assistant you should be sacked instantly
A handy place to pick up groceries, cash and fuel. Can get sandwiches and hot drinks. Have used it for years. Staff always pleasant and it can get very busy.
The Forbidden Palace, the Louvre, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon; All these places evoke images of majesty, wonder and grandeur. Compared to Farndon Londis, they are a house, a glass triangle and a hanging basket. Men nor gods can comprehend the selection of chocolate bars and Chinese disposable vapes on offer at this venerable establishment. If you haven’t been you need to go, and if you have been you need to go again.
Went with the family for a day out in 2017 and stopped by this quaint little shop, whilst the service was out of this world.. I noticed a little green guy caressing the garlic we had a wander round for a while and he must have left, there was cloves all over it was bewildering to say this least.. but none the less I am honoured to have had the experience.
This was a joy to shop, In 1980 I shopped in this same Londis and most of the AC cabin was still intact, including the bulkhead decorations and the laminated maple leaf designs in the washroom doors. I must say this Londis is a rumbling giant, In cruise you could feel vibration waves traveling down that long fuselage. Still I am pleased to have had the experience.
Very nice time visiting this shop. Great prices and lovely customer service. The only thing that confused me was the little green fellow that they had working there. He kept on running past the aisles and coughing loudly. Still I am pleased to have had the experience.
The shop it's self is fine but the lady working the post office is abrupt, unhelpful and always finds a reason not to assist. I've had 3 separate negative experiences with her and won't bother again. The post office in Newark is less convenient for me to get to but they always help with no issues.
Have shopped here for over 2 years, albeit reluctantly due to the surly man usually on the till. However he surpassed himself for rudeness last Sunday & I will never shop there again. I wished I'd had the courage to just leave the purchases on the counter & walk out, in hindsight. I accepted higher prices as it's a corner shop. But now I'd get a taxi & go elsewhere or do without.
