Primo, West Wickham is one of those places you’re quietly relieved exists. I popped in during the Christmas period and even though it was busy, everything ran smoothly. The food is consistently good, proper comfort food done well, and the counter always looks tempting. What really makes it though is the staff. Always super polite, calm and genuinely friendly, even when they’re clearly under pressure. It’s reliable in the best sense. No drama, no pretence, just good food and people who treat customers properly.

I often come to Primo Caffè as a meeting point with friends — it feels welcoming and familiar, almost like a second home. The coffee is consistently very good, in my opinion better in quality than Nero or Costa. The service is always friendly, professional, and the staff are genuinely polite, which makes the experience pleasant. Today, however, I ordered the Primo Special Sides – Bruschetta, and unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The flavour was dominated by too much garlic, which affected the balance of the dish. Having lived in Italy for 15 years and worked in hospitality, I feel the recipe could be refined to better reflect authentic flavours. Additionally, the level of plate and cutlery noise was quite noticeable and at times distracting. For a place that feels like a break from home, a calmer and more relaxing atmosphere would enhance the overall experience. That said, Primo Caffè remains a place I enjoy and return to regularly, and I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit in which it is intended.

What an absolutely delightful hidden gem! This charming little spot takes the cozy, welcoming feel of a classic English cafe and gives it an enchanting Italian twist. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and smiles that make you feel right at home. I only stayed for a cup of coffee and a slice of heavenly panettone, but every bite and sip was pure bliss!! The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed—people chatting, laughing, and savoring their meals, creating a joyful energy. I will definitely be back!!

This is very conveniently situated, with an entrance directly from the public carpark and another directly from the High Street. The range of food is impressive but to date we have only ordered a side of excellent chips to go with our coffees. There is plenty of seating. The service is efficient and helpful.

They do a wide selection of dishes for lunch, the toasted sandwiches are very nice. It’s £6.75 for a sandwich which is on the expensive side but very filling. Atmosphere is good, this place is clean and the service is good

The environment is very comfortable, simple but clean and well maintained. The efficient staff, the waiter (Greek) very kind. Excellent food, well-made lasagna. Apple pie good but too sweet, ice cream very sweet and not very creamy. but the rating is very good. Thank you

A very acceptable late lunch. Nice pasta, creamy sauce and properly cooked bacon. Good quality coffee too. Service fast and staff efficient. A bit noisy with sound reverberating off all the hard surfaces. Also, the 'pram mafia' were present in numbers.
