   Very no frills and just a few adjustments would make a big difference to how welcoming and enjoyable it might be to eat here. Lots of variety menu wise, but barely anything for vegans and even vegetarians are limited. Only baguette choice that’s dairy/meat free is fried egg. I think egg mayo should be a standard offering. I asked but it was a no no. Had a tuna baguette. Filling and quite tasty but even the most basic cafe could add a bit of salad - a few onions, some lettuce? Very plain looking, no sweetcorn either. Baguette was warm outside but very cold inside, as if it had just been defrosted. Still, it was tasty and fresh, just quite boring. Soya cappuccino was nice. Service wasn’t with a smile. Reasonable price, and clean so wouldn’t necessarily avoid, but I’ve had similar food with salad and a smile elsewhere and that makes a difference.

   Nice local cafe but my liver was precooked and therefore hard. Mash was watery, onions were fried well. Bacon was very thin. And a wasp landed in my tea (not the cafes fault I know, but I didn't fancy asking for another). Having said that the greek salad enjoyed by other diners looked very nice, and the cheese toasties looked good....so maybe I ordered wrong at this popular cafe. Service was excellent!

   The staff are always pleasant with excellent customer service, the food is always tasty and yet also affordable. I did try a crafty cafe up the road last year who raised their prices somewhere between me ordering from the menu and having eaten a meal, since then I decided to stick to Star Cafe as they are honest. I use this cafe regularly and won't be going anywhere else!

   I am a frequent visitor to Star Cafe and have recommended this venue to anyone who stands still long enough to listen to me. Usually pop in for lunch, although Breakfast is sometimes called for and I've been there in the evening for the occasional Diner. The food is excellent, well prepared and presented and of course Delicious. The Staff are lovely and always helpful and friendly. If you haven't tried Star Cafe yet, then drop in some day soon and enjoy a great meal in a busy but cozy atmosphere.
