I love that they have various kinds of herb teas in tins that you can choose from. They have sockets and wifi too :)
The cafe has changed a lot in the last year. No longer vegan/vegetarian, it doesn't have many vegan options at all now (the legendary Zen burger is no longer available, tragically!) . The food is quite repetitive, and often there is very little choice. Pretty good cakes though, although, again, hardly anything is vegan. Hot drinks are good, and it's reasonably priced although they've had to hike some prices quite a bit to remain a going concern. Staff are totally lovely. Very much a good convenience if you're there to climb, but not really a destination in itself anymore, sadly.
All the food is homemade, most of the ingredients come from the garden and there are a lot of vegetarian options. The Hot Chocolate is good, but the coffees (Mocha, Latte’s etc) are disgusting, so avoid them. But the prices are really good – A Mozzarella, sun dried tomato and pesto toastie is £4.50 and the drinks are about £2.50.
My favourite place to study after a good climb. Staff are exceptional as is the Zen 'Burger'!
