My wife and I were sitting in the café, having a normal conversation. At one point, she rested her head on my shoulder for a few seconds. There was nothing inappropriate or disruptive about our behaviour. Despite this, a member of staff came over and told us that other customers were complaining about what we were doing. This was shocking and embarrassing, especially since there were no children nearby and we were simply sitting quietly like any other couple. As we were leaving, another customer felt entitled to lecture my wife, saying that couples should not show affection in public and questioning whether I was her husband or boyfriend. This was completely disrespectful and none of her business. What was even more upsetting was that the café staff allowed this behaviour instead of protecting paying customers who were doing absolutely nothing wrong. Customers should not be given authority to police other customers’ personal behaviour when no rules are being broken. If this café is uncomfortable with couples sitting normally or showing minimal affection, then this should be clearly stated at the entrance. Otherwise, this kind of treatment feels discriminatory, intrusive, and humiliating. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Sadly, we will not be returning.

This charming cafe, nestled within the park, offers a delightful halal breakfast. I have had the pleasure of visiting on several occasions and have consistently been impressed. The staff are highly attentive and unfailingly provide excellent service. It is quickly becoming my preferred spot for breakfast.

Visited Emerald Café Bistro on Roman Road and ordered the Emerald Breakfast Platter for 2 along with tea, while my partner had an iced latte. The platter was beautifully presented and came loaded with eggs, sausages, turkey bacon, beans, toast, chips, French toast, pancakes, fruits, mushrooms, tomatoes, and syrup — everything was full of flavour. Even though it’s meant for two people, we struggled to finish it, so it’s definitely a generous portion! The café itself is stunning inside with its green and gold decor, hanging flowers, and warm, cosy atmosphere. The gold cutlery and elegant setup make it feel quite special. On my second visit, I tried the Emerald Special, which was nice but slightly disappointing for the price since it didn’t include chips or pancakes like the platter. The good thing is that both dishes come with refills on beans, which is a lovely touch. They accept both cash and card payments. It does lose one star, though, as the tables were sticky on my first visit — and unfortunately still the same on the second. Hopefully next time, the tables won’t be sticky anymore. Overall, the food and service were great, and it’s a lovely spot for breakfast or brunch. I’ll definitely come back again for the food and atmosphere!

The experience at the Emerald Cafe was truly remarkable, it was my first time coming here. Emerald Cafe has delicious food and exceptional service. Convenient parking options made the visit hassle-free, adding to the overall positive impression. Comfortable indoor seating created a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal. There is also outdoor seating available. The food itself was delightful, and the English breakfast & the Desi Breakfast were especially satisfying. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it. Would definitely be coming back with my friends and family.

A Local Gem – Delighted Emerald Cafe is Now in Roman Road! I’ve been to the Emerald Cafe in Goodmayes before and really enjoyed it – high-quality food, great service, and a solid location – so I was thrilled to see they’ve opened a branch in East London, right near Roman Road. Even better, it’s close to home! I had the Full English and a cappuccino, and both were excellent. Everything on the plate was really good quality, and they even offer a refill on the beans – a nice touch! The coffee was smooth and just how I like it. The café itself has plenty of space and comfy seating. The staff were friendly and attentive – one in particular young lady kept an eye out to make sure everything was okay throughout my visit. As a local with a Tower Hamlets permit, parking nearby was easy too. It was my first time at this branch today, and definitely won’t be the last. Thank you Emerald team!

The food was nice but I felt the mushroom portion was tiny and cut so small you can barely taste them. Everything else was great. Highly recommend this little cafe. It's aesthetic and cute little find and will be a huge hit in the warmer weather.

HALAL FRIENDLY. CHILD FRIENDLY & WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS FRIENDLY. Attended with family and relatives. It's a hidden treasure bistro, found. VERY Family oriented. Kind and supportive staff. Well maintained and clean. The environment is comforting. There is a parking area. It's located inside Goodmayes Park. First time in attendance. The decorations is very nice. You may eat inside or outside. Their chili sauce is something really nice and the menu is really good. They have offers so do ask when you arrive. Kids menu is there to for selection. Bathroom well maintained. I believe customers only access. Food Service - pretty quick. Taste and presentation - very good. Price - very decent. 4/5 I would give. I definitely recommend to visit if you are near by. We will come again.

Didn't know Goodmayes Park had a cafe so it was a pleasant surprise. Had a Karak Chai with a cake and both were nice. Will pop in another time and check out the food. Staff were really helpful and polite.
