Expensive for the convenience, I guess. Reservation desk guy didn't seem interested really. £100 for Manchester to Blackburn (pretty sure they make up the cost). Scary driving in floods...driver was helpful but didn't drive to conditions.
Called the office from around the corner, quoted £160 and told come to the office. By the time I got there price was now £240 as we would require a larger car due to having 4 people and 4 cases. Used Uber and it was £136.
As if the ordeal of using Manchester Airport isn’t enough, you foolishly but in good faith pre book and pre pay for a taxi for it to keep you waiting for 30 minutes. My destination is 10 minutes. Avoid like the plague, never ever again. Incompetence of the highest degree.
The usual terrible service from Street Cars! I booked a taxi 24 hours ahead of pick up to go to T2 using the Street Cars App. At the appointed time no taxi had turned up so I called the customer services. They couldn’t find my booking even when I gave them the booking confirmation number. Then on hold for 10 minutes only to be told that I must have used the App wrong! When I pointed out that this is the same App I’ve used for bookings for the past 2 years and I traveled with them last week the operator put me through to a different office in Manchester rather than sorting out the problem. The next office said that they could get a taxi to me in 15-20 mins. That would make it 45 minutes after the taxi was due. In the end I booked an Uber that arrived 3 minutes later and cost £5 less that Street cars was going to charge. They should acknowledge their appalling service rather than blaming their customers. Do not use Street Cars - ever!!
Drivers very nice, however office guys careless and useless. Prices hiked massively in the last 5 months (from 12 to 17 GBP for a short 10-min ride) and when raised when the office "manager" (a joke of a manager really) mentioning I'm not using them anymore, the disdainful answer was just a plain "I don't care". Great way to treat customers, especially airport staff as I am, using their services multiple times every week. Don't try and milk staff, we will find alternate options. Hoping travellers will avoid you as well when they return at midnight and there's 1 driver for 5 customers, lying to them about waiting times while they stand in the cold. Returning at night, go for the black cabs, they're available quickly and cheaper, less hassle. Don't try to book them in advance as they don't plan staff ahead.
Ordered & prevpaid for a cab to the airport & it was over 30mins late & I only received info when I was chasing. Terrible service DO NOT use
