Was a little surprised that the man behind the counter didn’t have the common courtesy to acknowledge our entry into the shop. I wanted to discuss a bottle in the window, but I would have got more conversation talking to the window. Back to the supermarket for me.

Visited the shop as I’d noticed a bottle in the window I’d never tried before, which I was keen to discuss with the staff, to hear their thoughts on whether it would suit my palate and interests. They were kind enough to let me sample the whisky (for which I’m very grateful - helped me avoid a £60 mistake!) but that’s about as nice as they got. The conversation was difficult, arrogant, and came with a sense of ‘we don’t really want to speak to you’. It definitely felt like unless you were on the older side, you probably didn’t know what you were talking about, and probably were buying a gift for your grandad/father. Which is fine, but let’s address that with friendly advice, not dismissals and a complete lack of interest in a potential paying customer. I bought a bottle of Ledaig, knowing it had a substantial markup, pleased to know I was helping an independent shop, but in future I’ll stick to an online independent whisky shop, or those found elsewhere. If you’re running an independent shop, you probably are passionate about your wares, I did not get that sense here, but it was my individual experience with these particular staff members. Update (July 2025, 19 months on): Revisited the shop and the same gentleman was there. He was friendly, polite and helpful, and I’m grateful for him helping me choose a bottle. My prior experience has now been forgotten and I’m looking forward to visiting again. I also find the pricing was comparable to online and MRSP. Would recommend.

Lovely shop I was in heaven when I walked in. I was greeted by a lovely lady who was very helpful and I would of left with a lot more than I did if the wife hadn't of found out. I will definitely be returning when I visit lincoln again. Looking forward see the shop again

Bought a bottle singleton 12 year old at £48 only to then go to morrisons find it at £22.99 not on offer for exactly the same size whilst I expect independent stores to charge a little more I don't expect to pay over double for the exact same bottle of whisky. We won't be shopping in here again which is a shame as normally we support independent stores however the mark is too much to justify shopping here.

I am impressed with whisky and other alcohol selection. If you looking for a gift or to expand your own collection go no further! Very helpful staff happy to share their knowledge and on top of that you can also try before you buy.
