What a fantastic experience for our son’s 11th birthday party. The children were supported and encouraged to push themselves, which they did and they also had loads of fun. Really good value for money too. The climbing instructor made it a really fun experience and my son now has a bit of the climbing bug and is wanting to come back for more.
My son Tom has been climbing at Harrogate for over 3 years now and he is just about to complete Nicas Level 5. Over 3 years he has had the most wonderful instructors who have always looked after him, taught him incredibly well and done everything they can to make him a fantastic climber and passionate about the sport. I was so impressed with our son first climb at the home education session. Henry the team leader was incredible with our son as well as being professional and friendly. Our son learnt new skills and his confidence just grew. The communication from the start was great too.
My 7yo had her first climbing lesson yesterday - with Rich & James - and I can’t give more praise. They were fab with her, from start to finish, clearly explaining the process for the whole session and what could have been an intimidating experience, as it was new to us both, wasn’t at all, it was a really welcoming, supportive environment. She loved the class and progressed well with their guidance. Thanks again and we hope to be back soon!
Great session with Sam for my 2 kids. He was super-patient with them & took care of everything, even down to the playlist, to make sure the experience was a success. Kids already asking when they can go back :-) Thanks so much!

Great starter one hour intro lesson for our four year old with teacher Loz (excuse spelling). No gear needed. Will be doing more. Thanks
Top rope and lead climbing walls are good with a range of difficulties and interesting climbs. Bouldering wall is also good; however, rather small which can get busy sometimes. My main issue is that the ONE brush in the bouldering area is held together by tape and it very poor. As it is quite expensive for both day passes and monthly membership I would expect better brushes and a water dispenser. 3 stars and overall "good" gym.
Me and my friends had an amazing time at this gym, where the staff got us checked in promptly and made sure we were going on a suitable course! Any climbing shoes needed were provided and the bouldering course has different difficulty lines, colour-coded from low to high. We all really enjoyed the course, climbing all over the lines and feeling high energy!
Went for an impromptu climb with an old friend today. Love this place, cracking staff and everyone around was great. Got some good problems in and a few that beat us. Definitely a great place to visit if you get the chance
