Nice place when you're in the place, service with a great smile and plenty of help if needed. Pity the table behind couldn't stop talking, my 2yr old granddaughter has better table manners and can eat with her mouth closed and not talk with a mouth full of food.

Went there for breakfast! Hot food was good! Not the best but good, nothing to complain about! Croissants and pancakes were a bit dry! Service: lady was very sweet and attentive but when we went there the front door was closed and we have to use the back entrance for breakfast apparently.

Tried again last week, still dated and dirty. Decided not to eat in there. Such a shame remember the good days of the Beefeater. Must have been a long time ago. Stayed last night at Premier Inn next door and decided to go to the Beefeater for dinner. BIG MISTAKE. The restaurant is tired and dated and in desperate need of a refurb. Got a wobbly table which is always a good start! Started with the breadcrumb coated mushrooms (soaked in oil). They were disgusting. Then went for the full mixed grill at £21. Was told just before it was brought out that there were no lamb chops so instead they had replaced with more breaded mushrooms. I explained I could not eat any more of them so they then brought me a large button mushroom (to replace lamb chops). The garnish was dry and looked horrible (see pics). The steak was chewy. The other meat was cold and the chips were either mushy or rock hard. I spoke to the manager who was great and did not charge me (I only ate a small amount and that was because I was so bloody hungry). Cant fault the staff friendly and professional. By the look of things long gone are the days when you would go to the Beefeater as a real treat. My advice is your better of going to McDonalds opposite.

Just had an excellent Sunday roast diner. The food was well cooked and great value for money. They are struggling to get staff but that did not stop the excellent service we received.

A place for quite bite and value meals. Remember to input your license plate number at the entrance if you are driving here.

Food was cooked well and arrived hot. Great service! Things have improved immensely since the restaurant has reopened.

Booked a meal for 2 for News Years Eve and was seated and order taken at 7:30pm. We decided on a steak meal with no starters. At 8:30pm I had to ask when our food was coming out. The plates were served to us to find that the steak sampler had no onion rings or peppercorn sauce to it. When I asked I was told this was still being cooked!!! The chips were soft, soggy and quite frankly looked more like mashed potato where they had broken up. The steak were barely lukewarm and very dry. Not what you expect for a medium steak! The rocket was so wilted where it had been under the lights it’s looked liked it had been cooled! We waited another 5 minutes for the sauce to be heated and it still did not arrive. At which point I refused the food and left. The manager then appeared out of nowhere to ask what the issue was. He explained that they were short staffed in the kitchen. I said in that case maybe they should consider closing the restaurant only to be snapped at by the manager saying we did close but now we have the staff we don’t need to any more! He offered to put things right and I asked would I have to await another hour sarcastically to which he replied yes of that’s what it takes!! Please think again before you book here. It really is that bad. There was food on the floor along with cutlery under our table. The staff member with beard and tattoos cleaned the table next to us and just proceeded to wipe all the crumbs and debris onto the seats! 3 staff members standing at the bar deinking soft drinks and not paying attention to any customers at all. Needless to say we will not be going back! The best thing that could happen to this restaurant is for it to be sold to a company that cares about food and customer service!

Nice environment for a family meal. Reasonably priced. Food was tasty and service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, chatty and very helpful. Definitely recommend it.
