New Years Eve at the Goat was great. Thats the first party they have ever done and Shawn and his team were excellent. They made everyone feel so well and there was never any queues for the bar and empties were cleared up straight away. Great atmosphere and Shawn the DJ/landlord pulled it off so well.

Food was as expected for a mass produced roast, although, the beef was surprising nicer than expected. No love ever goes into the preparation of the vegetables or cauliflower cheese but the potatoes were on point. The Yorkshire Pud’s looked nice but I didn’t partake. Chefs are a little mean with the meat but you can help yourself to as much veg as you like. Atmosphere is what you make it. Pub could do with an uplift as every corner is dull and dark. Staff are pleasant and helpful. If you’re feeling lazy or just want to feel full and won’t mind that it doesn’t have a patch on how your granny did your roast, then give it go. Don’t expect champagne for a lemonade budget as it’s very reasonably priced. It was a pleasant lunch and gathering for my friends and I should state that roast is my favourite meal and I have high expectations so 3 stars isn’t bad at all considering. Not in my top 5, but not in my bottom 5 either.

Party of 11, one with dairy allergies and it was a really great evening. The staff were really accommodating, helpful, courteous and polite, we were really welcomed and looked after for the whole evening. The dairy allergy was not a problem, they just dealt with it correctly and everything was absolutely fine. We eat here regularly because the food is always really nice and we would always highly recommend this great restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is just right, never too loud, never too quiet.

Small carvery for £7.99. quality matches the price but it’s a good, easy and cheap meal that is cooked fresh. Staff are really friendly - John was very chatty and helpful. Thank you

Lovely quiet place for a family meal and quiet drink. Carvery is really nice and a very food price. They also do pizza and other food. Staff are really friendly

The food was all served quickly and was hot! Everything was good! The staff were all happy and friendly! We ordered at the bar and the staff were quick to acknowledge you and were happy and chatty when serving. Paige was our waitress and was super attentive, happy and she made my daughters birthday extra special by putting candles in her desert for us! Thank you! We'll definitely be back!

The food was so good here. We had the carvery and it was excellent, we also ordered a meal off the menu which turned up quickly and had great reviews. The drinks were excellent and the staff helped us when we asked for it to be made slightly differently. The goat was quiet when we visited at lunchtime so there were loads of room and you got to pick your own table and order at the bar. A few things were not available but what they did have was excellent. The parking is free if going into the goat just don't forget to put your registration number in.

What a lovely place to have a meal ! The car very staff were friendly , carvery was delicious, hot and fresh and the best bit about it is you don’t wait around for it as it’s a carvery. They also served my favourite New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and I finished the meal with a lovely cherry sponge and custard . All that for under £20! Will definitely be going back again…. and again !
