The Globe: Great Wine and sides but Lacking Services A fancy yet cosy pub in Brentford, London, right in my neighbourhood. Tonight I decided to meet one of my besties there, so I booked a table through the website. As soon as I arrived at the premises, I informed the lady behind the till about my reservation. She asked me to wait for a minute while she arranged a seat for me and my friend. Unfortunately, after standing in the middle of the pub for about three minutes, waiting for someone to actually seat us, I realised they didn’t really take these formalities seriously. So I decided to find a table myself. After sitting for more than five minutes, it became clear that there was no waiter or waitress coming over to take our order. Even the wine and drinks menu wasn’t on the table. So I ended up checking the website and decided on a bottle of Pinot Noir France 2023 and some halloumi cheese as a side dish. The fruity aroma and the hint of black pepper, along with the full tannin body of the wine, made my meeting with my bestie genuinely enjoyable. The halloumi chunks with the chilli jam were properly umami, and I honestly recommend it as a side dish when having red wine. In conclusion, the atmosphere of the pub and the quality of the food were admirable, but the service was far from what I expected i.e. When I went to order the bottle of French dry Pinot Noir, I was expecting someone to bring it to the table. Instead, after placing my order at the till, the clerk simply handed me the bottle and two glasses, meaning I had to carry everything myself. Given the whole experience, I’ve come to the conclusion that the pub culture there is quite basic, and anyone visiting should lower their expectations when it comes to service.

I visited The Globe in Brantford today and was genuinely impressed. The burger was really delicious – it had that classic McDonald’s-style flavor, but fresher and much higher quality. The perfect mix of comfort food and true pub quality. The value for money was great as well. For what you get, the prices are definitely fair. Overall, a very relaxed visit and absolutely worth recommending!

Best in Brentford/West London for Sunday roast! Not in the area as much anymore but when I am you can guarantee I will be in on Sunday. Been away for 10 weeks and every Sunday was thinking about the Globe Sunday roast. Always so welcoming and the food is always consistent. No small silly portion sizes which is perfect for my family and I.

The Globe in Brentford is a fantastic spot that effortlessly blends a cozy, traditional pub atmosphere with modern touches. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The menu is a standout, offering a great selection of hearty pub classics alongside some more creative dishes. The Sunday roast is a must-tryβ€”perfectly cooked and generously portioned. Their drink options are equally impressive, with a range of ales, beers, and a well-curated wine list. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual drink, a delicious meal, or just a friendly chat with locals, The Globe delivers. It’s a true gem in Brentford and well worth a visit.

Adult - Choose up to 3 Meats - Sirloin of Beef, Leg of Lamb, Turkey Breast, Pork Loin or Gammon Homemade Nut Roast is also available. All meals are served with a choice of roast & mashed potato, peas, carrots, honey roasted parsnips, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding & gravy Staff were extremely friendly both behind the bar and the food serving area. You basically choose what meat you are going to have and pay for it and then you go to the food counter where you can let them know if there are any vegetables you don’t want. The meat was good, but seemed to lack a bit of flavour, lovely selection of vegetables. The pub is very family friendly, but the back room overlooking the garden is very noisy once tables start to fill. Definitely need to book as very popular.

Grim. Worst food I’ve had in a long time. Terrible burger. Just congealed meat that is rock solid and full of salt. Terrible terrible roast. Rock hard veg dripping in fat. After 15 years of trying to support this pub I won’t be back again.

The Globe has rarely disappointed since my first visit over ten years ago. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Food is good and the ribs (with curly fries in the photo) are just superb! It's the best pub in the area overall. Note: I just wish they could bring back the old delicious triple cooked chips that have been replaced by an anemic sub-par variant years ago.
