Swinton Insurance more like SWINDLE insurance !!!. I never normally write reviews but want to warn others about the small print. I recently decided to stop motorcycling and sold my bike, as it had 6 months on the insurance I decided to cancel and get a refund. On my policy summary it gave a table of refund costs HOWEVER during a very long phone call I was pointed to the small print of Swindle insurance which states that there was a £50 cancellation charge. It’s in black and white so I’ve got no come back !! In fact they pointed out they would actually scratch the £1.85 that I OWED THEM FOR CANCELLING!!!. I would have better just letting it run, at least I would have had another years no claims bonus. What I would ask is what is the £50 for it only takes two button pushes to cancel a policy. Be warned if you use Swindle they will charge you to cancel a policy and you will NOT get any refund. No doubt Swindle will respond to this, and I say BOLLOCKS to you, if you spent time looking after customers you wouldn’t get bad reviews. Date of experience: 14 April 2025

Swinton's car insurance was really awful. I had just wanted to update my information and this company forced me to cancel my previous one because they didn't let me update my information, then offered to get the new one at four times more than the previous one price. I don't offer this insurance to anybody.

I changed my vehicle, the same make merely a newer model. For this Swinton hiked up the premium by over 50% for the remaining four months of the policy. When I tried to put my personal plate on the new car, they wanted an extra £35. This is complete highway robbery and as such I have deleted auto renew. I will never use this company again for any insurance products or recommend Swinton as a good and reputable insurance company to anyone.

Made one claim almost a year ago when our drains collapsed in our garden, leaving raw sewage. Since then they have tried to close the claim without informing us. They have claimed they don't have a legal department. They are ignoring our lawyers. They have not sorted their own internal complaints department. They have disregarded us not renewing our policy and are asking us to reset up the DD. They have completely ignored our data protection requests. In effect, taken our premiums and are doing everything they can not to pay out. We are already £10k out of pocket. I would not go near this bunch of cretins. Use literally anyone else.

When it became time for the renewal I text & emailed the company not to continue. However today I found that they had not only kept my bank account details from last year but they also ignored my instructions and withdraw £452 out of my account leaving me with no money left to pay my direct debit. Take my advice and steer away from what feels to me to be shady dealings

First experience with them .... awful absolutely terrible customer care that forget to inform you of vital information then harass you to tell you ....... cancelled my policy on the 28th they then phoned me around 4 times to tell me they forgot to say cancel the direct debit for any future payments... so I did and now they're finance company has debted me up for missing the payment and charged me for the payment that I'm no longer in a contract for !!!!!!

Fraud! Someone took out car insurance, with this shambles of a company, in my name. They kept me, the real me, on hold for 20 minutes then hung up. They’re probably in on it. Best swerved.

Firstly you are not insured by Swinton, they sell you to some of the scummiest insurers who make claiming even more stressful than you need. The small claim we made was met with a list of demands to prove that we owned even 2nd hand goods. IF...( A BIG IF..) you can dig years old receipts up, they then " might consider " each item ! Absolutely fuming how they simply wanted to find any loophole to then " maybe" pay out ..minus of course at least £200 excess!! AVOID LIKE MAD!

Beautiful building, great location. I work there but only go into the office a few times a month due to working from home since lockdown but really enjoy my days in the office. Great for trains and trams, shops bars restaurants etc on the doorstep. Gorgeous views of the cathedral too.
