We were at the Nags Head for a wedding reception and I was amazed at the amount of food that was on the tables and more than that was the quality of the food. Everything was homemade I’ve never seen so much filling in a sandwich everything was so delicious. I can’t rate this pub enough and would certainly recommend it to anyone for any occasion. My thanks to all the staff who made my brother in laws wedding perfect!

The Nags Head Pub Review Had a brilliant time at The Nags Head. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, but what really makes this place stand out is the staff. Chelsea, King, Arther and Sophie were absolutely outstanding – incredibly attentive, friendly and professional throughout our visit. Nothing was too much trouble, drinks were served promptly, and they made us feel genuinely looked after from start to finish. Their service is genuinely unbelievable and a credit to the pub. It’s rare to come across a team that works so well together and clearly cares about the customer experience. Highly recommend The Nags Head – we’ll definitely be back thanks to the amazing service from the team.

We held my grandad’s wake at The Nag’s Head last week and I honestly couldn’t fault them. Artur, the general manager, was incredibly helpful throughout and made the whole process so easy for us. The staff were kind, attentive and respectful, which meant a lot to our family on such a difficult day. They put on a really lovely buffet that was well presented and enjoyed by everyone, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Thank you to Artur and his team!

We had a wonderful family celebration at The Nag’s Head, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Artur and his team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Even though the pub was very busy, the service never slipped — attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout. The attention to detail really stood out and made our celebration feel special. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt so well looked after. A big thank you to Artur and the whole team for making it such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be recommending The Nag’s Head to others and look forward to coming back!

My brother passed away recently & we had his after burial refreshments yesterday. I wanted to book the Nags Head as it was his favourite place. As you can imagine it is a very stressful time, but I met Artur & his team and they assured me it would be fine & they would look after me. Wow did they look after me! The area was cordoned off for us, and we had so much attention from the bar staff. The food came out and it was magnificent. There was ample food & Ive had so many messages from friends of the family who were there saying how impressed they were at the send off my brother was given. A friend of my brother plays the bagpipes & was allowed to play a tribute to him. It was incredible. I want to thank Artur, Morgan, Sophie & Gerri (apologies if the spelling is wrong & if I’ve forgotten anyone) from the bottom of my heart. Yesterday was perfect & a sad time made special by your kindness & class. I’ve had sleepless nights for weeks over this, but I can sleep well now. Yesterday was a beautiful send off for my brother, in his favourite pub. As a family, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks again x

Have been coming to this pub on and off for 20 years, always been a fave but has gone downhill. Dirty glasses, not enough staff so takes a while to get served (same issue on a few visits), some of the tables are broken and rickety (management, put your drink on Table 16 and lean on it). My friends and I came in for a pint and all four of us left ours undrunk because they tasted metallic and off, and these were different drinks. Normal menu not available, a print out advertising "Chiken strips" on every table instead. Needs improvement.

Very disappointed, this used to be a nice family pub. I don’t often write a review but the lack of communication was a disgrace! I booked this for my family of 14 for my niece’s 18th birthday. All well until we went to order our mains. We were informed that we cannot order our food as the chef does not have time because the kitchen shuts at 10 and he has too many orders backed up. But I had already ordered my sons meal, we then had to wait 30 mins before it arrived. After which we were then told that children are not allowed in the pub after 9pm. But this information was given to us at 9:30pm! The staff was gracious and allowed 5 mins to for him to eat his meal. No one told us any information about when the kitchen is shut or rules about children being in the pub past 9pm. We had to leave and go and get food elsewhere. On top of that I had to chase for my £75 deposit and the men’s urinals were blocked with urine. I will never go there again. Very disappointed!

Normally a good place but were short staffed. Food was not up to a great standard but the girl behind the bar was exceptional, grafting on her own after finishing a late shift the night before. 5 stars for her but 1 for the management Staff should not have to handle that pressure without support

Had booked in advanced, were asked when it was booked, they don't look at bookings till next day. Just go find a table without a reserve on it. My daughter was in a wheelchair so we couldn't take any tables up the stairs. The reserved table had a name and time which was 14.00, it was now 17.30. The other table still had dirty items on it. When food eventually arrived it was lukewarm only hot part was the gravy. Toilets were in bad state. staff told, but didn't seem too bothered. Have used this pub on many occasions before with no problems. It seems to have gone down hill. Will not be going to or recommending it anymore.
