First time we visited the Anchor. Manager and staff were very nice, however, disappointed with the food. The all day breakfast was not to bad but the sausage and mash was was very poor. 3 little sausages the mash was buried under the sausages the peas were ok. It was a childβs size portion. The fish and chips looked fine but cutting into the fish it was mainly batter. We left The Anchor feeling hungry went home and made sandwiches.

Family Christmas meal for 9. Was a bit apprehensive at first. We had a brilliant time. The food was lovely. The staff and manager. Wow I take my hat off to them. The place was packed but they did a great job. The singer was very good but as we were near had a bit of trouble talking. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Went for a late lunch in the week. Pub was quite and served quickly. Food was ok, chicken strips was the highlight! Found the mini hash browns very Saltley. Good choice of 4 different lagers. Young lady behind bar polite and friendly. Dog friendly. Nice big garden. Will return to try the Sunday roast.

I visited with a family group on my granddaughter's birthday . It was 4pm on a Friday. The pub has one large room, light and bright with double doors leading to the beer garden. The fish and chips was Β£10 for an adult portion and the fish was nice and flaky. The chips were frozen as is usually the case these days, though I really don't think much of them. The sausages and mash were good, too, and a generous portion. I can't comment on drinks prices, as I wasn't paying! The pub is popular and got very busy and loud the floor is tiled and all the hard surfaces no doubt add to the noise. However, the atmosphere is lively and dogs and children are welcome. I look forward to sitting outside when the weather is a bit warmer.

Nice atmosphere, well presented food, decor is cosy, classy and smart. Calling it my βlocalβ doesnβt really do it justice. Only down side is theyβve never had the bao buns available

Have eaten here twice before and food was lovely, but sad to say I had very much opposite experience today. Highly upset and disappointed, my partner had booked a table two days prior. when we arrived we was told that our table hadnβt been booked and was asked to be seated in the bar area where was overly crowded very unpleasant, after complaining that it wasnβt good enough we finally got seated In The dinning area. We placed our orders, the manger then asked what time my baby showers was so he would know what time I would be leaving. Food had then arrived within 5 minutesβ¦ starters and mains all at the same time, the nachos had no cheese! The fish finger sandwich was supposed to be a brioche bun which can in huge powered bap with very little stone cold fish!! My parters roast beef was very over done and tough! When I complained once again to the manager he simply asked me to give him back the fish sandwich rather coming to the table and collecting it himself and offered me simply the money back only for that. When I also told him the beef was tough he shouted across the bar and told me there was nothing wrong with it. As a woman I found that intimidating and we left shortly left after that.

Nice pub with friendly, helpful staff, well kept ale and an interestingly different food menu. Good platefuls of food at quite reasonable prices. lots of sitting room including a nice outside area.

Still nice food but charged 6 quid for 3 little strips of chicken. Used to be healthy sized portions now it looks like their trying to squeeze more money out of it. Who I think was the manager, not sure since I can't keep up with who's running it anymore, came over and said he's had no complaints since starting just before Christmas but that would make it 2 weeks? Not how I remember the anchor to be. Disappointed
