This is a fantastic gym. Everybody is so friendly and accommodating. Tutors are helpful and well trained. The gym is well equipped and the pool, sauna and steam room are great. The pool is warm which in my books, is a great addition. The showers are actually hot and stay on, not turning off after 30 seconds when you're covered in soap. The cafe is lovely with again, very friendly staff and a good selection of food and drinks, including healthy smoothies. You can also purchase swimming equipment. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but I'm happy to pay for all the pluses.

I have been a member for nearly a year now and I love Tai Chi with Kay, she is lovely and very encouraging, my balance has improved. Street dance with Rich is also one of my favourite classes, he is energetic and entertaining and it is an excellent class for improving my aerobic and anaerobic capability. The last class I can't live without is Yoga, my flexibility has improved so much, and getting up off the floor is so much easier, thank you Emma great job

I have been a member here for over 20 years and can honestly say that it is such a welcoming place. From the minute you step inside you are greeted with smiles & good mornings. The cafe is fabulous & staff get to know your orders, they are always friendly & chat which adds a personal touch. I only use the pool (not the gym) which I love, you get to know the best times when it’s not so busy. You get a sense of ‘belonging’ at Nuffield, a fab venue, my only disappointment is that I miss the beauty rooms and Elemis upstairs.

I’ve got a visitors pass as my mum is a member but would not want to pay 50 odd pounds for this place. It’s so hard to rate this place due to some strong positives but some really terrible things also. The pool This is only 20m. Strange yes, however it’s spotless. Well presented and has a sauna and steam room. The changing facilities are again spotless, great showers. I didn’t get into any classes however my mum loves them, saying they’re well worth it. The cafe is a lovely touch too, and the coffee is actually decent- would go back for a drink there. Staff are absolutely lovely too. Now let’s get started on the gym. First impressions were ‘wow this is massive’ With a large cardio section, however these machines are old. I went for what I thought was a cross trainer- it was some sort of backwards one There was a lot of ‘out of order’ signs on the cardio machines. There were 2 heights in the gym, a lot of cardio and some machine for training weights were on this platform thing, I kept forgetting and falling off this. I’m surprised they haven’t had accidents. I use a lot of gyms, the equipment here truely has to be something from the 80’s. Very old I’m glad I have a lot of experience in equipment or I wouldn’t know what to do with a lot of machines. It was pull day for me- no real cables for lat pull down A very very old low row with one handle missing. I wanted to do some tricep work with rope but after a good search- could only see one very very worn out rope. No plate stands, all plates were loaded onto the equipment- a little awkward. No equipment stand- bars/rope attachments for the cable machines just everywhere. If I was wanting a gym in this area I would go next door to gym group- this is more modern and the equipment is a lot better for the price you pay.

I have been at the gym for 2 years now so I have a good idea about the place. I have a PT, Tom, he is absolutely outstanding and great to know and incredibly knowledgeable I believe the management are not on top of things, I would consider them quite slack tbf. I find the welcome when you walk in very hit and Miss to be honest, although Donna is always very pleasant and positive Lots to get better at Nuffield Chesterfield in a very competitive market place

Good gym, could do with a refresh and some better free weights equipment. There are cheaper options in Chesterfield with better equipment, but if you want a relaxed atmosphere and a good pool then this is your only option

With the price being so high you'd think it would be a good quality gym. Really needs updating the majority of the equipment must be from the 90s. Opening times are rubbish 8pm at the weekend is so early to close. The pool is nice but with the amount of classes and kids classes on you will struggle to find a time you can use it. Staff are nice which really is the only reason it isn't a 1 star review

The staff are friendly. The gym and pool are nice and clean. Terrible and tiny weights area. The equipment is old and tired at best. Some just doesn't work properly anymore e.g. the 1 smith machine is rusty and doesn't move smoothly. I changed from GymGroup to Nuffiled to use the pool but the Gymgroup equipment is infinitely better at a fraction of the price. Very disappointed with Nuffield but locked in now for 10 more months.
