Overall Kidderminster Hospital is just unpleasant. The first thing that hits you AS SOON as you walk in is the disgusting smell of bacon grease. It is vile. The smell lingers on your clothes even after you leave. What kind of hospital smells like bacon grease the moment you walk through the door? Itβs not even just in the entrance, it carries through the corridors. A place of care should not smell like that. The signposting inside is confusing and could be a lot better. When you call the reception on the phone, you are greeted as if you are an inconvenience. There is just no bedside manner at all. It is abrupt and cold every single time. If you have a blood test appointment, you will likely be sat there for about 15 minutes after your appointment time was due. Patients walk around confused, wondering where they can go to see if somebody is available, as thereβs no reception. Whatβs the point in having appointment slots if youβre not going to be called out on time? If there was a reason for this, due to back log I would understand. But when you see nurses sat in the blood testing room on their mobile phones and having a chat, it makes you wonder why youβre sat outside your appointment waiting to be called in when youβre there on time. Do nurses not have allocated break times? The car parking situation is an absolute disgrace. You cannot get a space even if you are disabled. People end up parking on the curb, on the path and even in the area meant for ambulances only, because there is nowhere else to go. There are queues at the parking machines and the cost to park is disgusting. People literally fight for a space after circling the car park 3 times in hopes someone has left. If you have an appointment you genuinely need to arrive at least half an hour earlier just to search for parking and even then you will probably end up on a side street away from the hospital and have to walk.

Generally had excellent service, hospital easier to navigate than Worcester Royal. Tea room always a pleasure to visit. Car parking, especially disabled, only drawback. Thank you to all the staff!

Lack of enough disabled/blue badge parking spaces makes it impossible for me to attend appointments on my own. Departments not linked, making it a long walk from to another. Basically not disabled user friendly

A huge thank you to the lovely staff on reception for their patience when accommodating my mum's requests this morning.in a polite, friendly and efficient manner . Also a massive thank you .to the technicians who quickly and efficiently service the hearing aids presented to them. You all deserve so much more than just our thanks .

He was hoping itβs a spasm he gave me medication to take. I am on day four now, and I still cannot lift my My arm Above my shoulder I will be going back to see my GP. I will be putting a complaint in about the doctor at the hospital and I will not be having him treating me again

I have no bad review for the rest of the hospital because they were all helpful and reall friendly . My bad review is for a woman called Steph who works in the cafe there I have been in this morning whilst waiting for a patient . Rude is an understatement she shouldnβt be working in a public role serving customers .. no please or thankyou , face like a fiddle and an attitude that spoke volumes β¦ if you donβt want to be at work I suggest giving up the job and give someone a chance that actually wants it. She snapped at me and also the staff that were behind me . If it wasnβt for the other lady that worked there taking over from her I would have walked out. Terrible customer service .

My husband was totally destroyed by a group of vile individuals on this dreadful ward. He suffered sepsis several times had numerous water infections, was physically assaulted to such an extent that the police were called and still they refused to name the purportrator or remove the dreadful catheter. It wasn't until my lovely daughter approached a kindly female doctor that the catheter, which obviously did not suit him was removed. He lost over 3 stone in weight from lack of food on Harvington Ward. His life was happy before, these people destroyed him. 4 months in what can only be described as he'll

I'm sorry I was mix up with Kidderminster treatment center which is on Waterloo st. Very bad experience. But Kidderminster hospital is the best hospital in the world, I being a lot of time there for myself and for other people and I got best treatment best service in very quick time. Doctor and nurse are really friendly. I love this hospital that much that my dream is I wanted to do something for this hospital before I die.

Gp advised me to call the maternity services at my nearest hospital to get more immediate support suggested. On my first call to the hospital, I was hung up on after explaining the above and then when calling back, I was met with giggles and an extended βohβ, βweβd never do that...β My second attempt was slightly more successful as they began to register my details but when asked what is your ethnicity which is quite simply one of the most common mixed heritage found in the UK. The lady laughed and said βI'll just put white otherβ. I work for the NHS myself and sadly this behaviour is not surprising but seriously needs knuckling down on. Passive comments like these are far from funny. The call concluded with being told that I am not within the borough to attend the maternity services, although this is my nearest hospital.

The service received was superb from the lady on the reception desk, to the nurse who took my bloods. There was a delay with taking the bloods, due to an issue with the computers, but this was not the fault of the staff. The only negative comment is the cost of parking, which is a bit expensive in this current climate, especially if you have no choice but to pay it. I think anyone using a hospital shouldn't have to pay for parking, as they have enough to deal with. However, I understand there are fees needed to maintain the parking, but feel the fee of Β£3 for 1 hour, should be reduced.
