We agreed to meet friends at 10pm tonight (Christmas Eve)....usual lovely warm welcome by regular staff...at 10.51pm we heard a bell ring...whilst the website said open until midnight, we thought, let's get a drink in ASAP so we'll be away early....only to be flatly refused a drink by the guy in charge saying we'd missed last orders. We've been going in here over 20 years..I told him the time and he just said ' no more drinks'. Utterly annoying as we put so much business into this, our local pub. Not any more. When they're desperate for customers to visit in January and February...we won't be going....very,very upsetting and disappointing.

I normally only write reviews for exceptionally good or extremely bad, unfortunately, the wellington bury breakfast with santa was terrible and a complete shambles. Upon entering at 10am, first impression was the place had quite a bad smell of which i can only describe as dirty toilets that had been attempted to mask with some sort of cleaning fluid. There was no atmosphere, no christmas music playing, just some felt tips and create your own wooden decorations on the table. At around 10.30, some tables started to get their food so we went to the bar and ordered some drinks, one of them being a hot chocolate which they said they would bring to the table. After half an hour, around 11.00, we still had no food and no hot chocolate. We had to remind the staff and they brought the hot chocolate within a few minutes but they seemed to be very confused about the food even though we had already pre ordered and paid in full online as requested at the time of booking. By 11am, there were still about half of the families there waiting for their food. A member of staff came out asking who was still waiting. Our food was brought out around 10 minutes later so well over an hour of waiting. The children's pancake meal consisted of soggy Pancakes with 2 quarters of a small strawberry (half a small strawberry in total) and some strawberry sauce. The toast was missing from the xl breakfast and when asked about it after most of the breakfast was eaten, they didnt even know it was supposed to come with toast but did bring it out straight away and we could tell it had been sat there for a while as it was cold and hard with 1 slice being burnt. The waffle stack consisted of rock hard waffles and some small chicken pieces and probably 1 rasher of bacon chopped into tiny pieces rather than the 4 rashers that was advertised. If all that wasn't bad enough, Santa snuck in and sat in his chair behind the christmas tree. Whilst parents and children were waiting in line to see him, he was surrounded by children and he announced 'right then, I better give you some presents then, ain't i' to which he pulled presents out of a sack and was shouting out 'who's 5' then giving the children of that age the present. There were no photo opportunities and by this time we just wanted to get out of there as we overheard a few families complaining and asking for refunds which we also would have asked for if we had waited any longer. All in all, this was the most unorganised event that we have ever been to and definatley won't be returning to this establishment after wasting money here on something that should have been a nice experience.

We booked for food for 10 people on a Saturday night. It was very busy, as to be expected at that time. When we ordered food we were told there could be quite a wait as it was such a big order and only 2 people in the kitchen. The starters arrived in about 15 minutes and mains very shortly that. Hats off to Keegan and Andy in the kitchen as that was a quick service and the food was great, everything exactly as we ordered. Liam who was serving us was great too, making sure we had everything, checking we were ready for mains and even helping me bring I’d ordered at the bar to the table as the food had been brought out. I don’t think he could have done more for us. I would definitely go back and wouldn’t be worried about going a such a busy time like I would with other places. Thanks to everyone, it was booked for my Dad’s 60’th and he had a great time too!!

So I brought my little boy for Santas breakfast, what an absolute shambles. First of all there was 3 members of staff on front of house we waited 1.15hrs and our breakfast still hadn’t arrived by this point every table was complaining either about not receiving food or the food being cold. By the time we decided to leave the amount of empty tables was sad. They brought Santa out to try and save it so no one else would leave (which I think was bad because now I’m having to take the kids out of the place with Santa sat there) my 1 year old was screaming, I’d asked for a piece of toast for him whilst we waited an hour! 30 mins later the toast never arrived at this point we had enough and needed to get my 1 year old fed! Please can I just add the staff that was there did there MOST at keeping people happy and sorting refunds, working in hospitality myself I knew how rubbish they probably felt getting all the abuse that the managers should of got! One girl had tears in her eyes, no support, no organisation and probably on minimum wage to deal with all of that! Management needs sorting or replacing I’ve never left a bad review anywhere in my life but this had to be done. I hope someone higher up sees this and sorts this out asap. Also to mention the place smelt like a dead rodent! Worst place I’ve ever been to in my life

Although staff were nice enough the service was very slow. Food was lukewarm, dry and over cooked. Mixed grill came with veggie sausage and half of the other items missing, when queried we were told "oh yeah, the chef is having a bad day" and "were you not told when you ordered?"... Er, no or I wouldn't have ordered it. I would not recommend and will not go back.

First time here, tried the steak and ale pie, pastry soggy and salty, gravy too thick and not enough and nit much meat inside. Staff friendly but don't like to see them having eating whilst wandering around then getting my tea, no handwashing was involved. The steak was OK but then found a date sticker in the food saying today is Thursday throw away Sunday and it was Wendsday so out of date. Did get a refund of the steak, the guy who dealt with my complaint was great. You asked for feedback!

Just been in for food and a few drinks, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I thought it was just going to be typical microwave pub food but all tasted good and pretty fresh and my son even said can we eat here more often. So will be back again.

Bad service and food was awful. Garlic bread was half hot half still frozen. Bbq Chicken wings were missing the bbq. Food all came out at different times, 2 starters got forgotten about. Sweet chilli and nacho cheese chicken strips had no sweet chilli on and the battered fish was like rubber. Never written a bad review on food before even when it's been a bit rubbish but this was something else!
