   David is a true craftsman being critical of his own work until he was satisfied that the result matched the original profiles of the chair. Replacing the broken springs and cushion foam, the chair looks and feels as good as new, and all at a very reasonable price.

   Highly recommend David Bell David Bell is an amazing craftsman. In the past he has completely stripped and re-polished several items of dark wooden furniture for me and did a fantastic job. The outcome was a beautiful light coloured large wooden fire surround, sideboard and coffee tables - totally modernising my sitting room. Today he has refurbished 2 sofas with quality new foam cushion seats and re-padded the back cushions which has transformed tired looking sofas to look like new again. Throughout he has shown a great commitment, meticulous care and attention to detail and enthusiasm to the job in hand and has worked with pride and determination to provide his customer with a greatly enhanced piece of furniture. I would highly recommend this gentleman to anyone who is looking for a dedicated class furniture restorer. Thank you David for your expertise, care, politeness, and the obvious love of your business.

   David did an amazing job on our two and three seater leather sofas. Both were sagging badly and the leather on the 3 seater was distressed. David re-tentioned the bases and replaced the leather on three of the seats. We now have two sofas that not only look great but are more comfortable than ever before. The decision to get our sofas repaired rather than repaced was definitely the right one after David did such a great job for us, and such a lovely chap to boot.    Both foam inserts on my leather sofa were replaced which was done at my home, it involved taking the sofa to bits and reassembling as they are fixed cushions. David did a great job at a fair price. It was a pleasure to watch a master craftsman at work.

   in acknowledgement of the many positive reviews shown, it's surprising that we had an odd experience with this business. With no real crossed words David seemed to just take a dislike to us. Maybe we caught him at a bad time. He's also using photos of a job we asked for an estimate on which was accepted that he then decided not to do by putting it off. I asked him to please remove the photos but he still uses them. We came to the conclusion that maybe he just doesn't want to work with businesses, only private customers. Generally nice to begin with but easily irritated and very polarised opinions.

   What a wonderful experience I had with Furniture Mend. My beloved Scandi-style teak lounge chair collapsed (twice - under guests, how mortifying) so I researched a local repairer… I contacted two companies, one of which was Furniture Mend. David immediately stood out as kind & knowledgeable. He offered collection & delivery and kept in touch throughout the process. He dropped it off the other day - what an incredible job he’s done on what was a very damaged chair (due to an old poor repair job on our part). And the price was incredibly reasonable too. I feel that services such as these are rare these days - craftsmen who actually care about repair (rather than simply discard) and ask for very modest fees. David is a gem and I hope to send more business his way. Thank you so much again David!

   David repaired two broken dining chairs that had collapsed on the seating section. He also discovered that the joints had become brittle in them as well. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job and did an excellent repair. The chairs are stronger now as he uses plywood instead of chipboard to strengthen them. David is a really nice guy who did his best to keep the price down and repair them within a reasonable timeframe.
