Receptionist told me they can't book appointments. So what exactly is their job?

A review of the dispensery only. In 6 months of repeat prescriptions they have NEVER ONCE dispensed my medication correctly or on time. The staff are very friendly, however the pharmacy is always in chaos!

The female receptionists at this clinic are consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. They frequently mislead taxpayers and patients, often claiming their years of experience—“over nine years working here”—as justification for overriding medical advice. However, when challenged, they quickly backtrack and insist they are not doctors. This kind of pedantic and arrogant behaviour is completely unacceptable in a healthcare environment.

Many times had issues with the doctors. The latest being having my 6 week baby check up highlighted an issue and would review in 6 months and then 12 months old. Went to the hospital for another reason when he was 4 months old and the hospital picked up the issue raised at the 6 week check up and said your doctors clearly are not fit to be giving advice this needs to be raised immediately with the children’s hospital. Hospital instructed me to phone the GP right away and raise this as a concern!

You will always struggle to even get ring backs..let alone appointments. I got there before it even opened..joined the queue..by the time i got to desk, apparently everything had gone. .."come back tomorrow" should be on a sign at the entrance

I am not one for pestering the Doctor but last Thursday I really needed help or advice as I was doubled up in pain in my Tum.Having experienced this pain for two or three days consecutively I telephoned at 08.15 and waited 40 mins before I got through. I was 29 th in queue I was given the brush off saying, no slots left, try tomorrow.I said, "I know I am in trouble I just need some advice and what happens if the same occurs the next dayThe most unfriendly receptionist said dial 111.I did and was greeted with empathy and courtesy something that the receptionist at the surgery lacked.111 made me a appointment at George Elliot hospital and to cut a story the next 4 days was spent as a inpatient with a severe infection in my gall bladder together with stones.I am on antibiotics now and have to go back for a operation. The moral of this story is that if you know you are really poorly don't bother ringing this surgery.Go straight to 111.At least even it doesn't result in a app with a Doctor, you can talk to someone who will listen to you and react appropriately.

The worst place to get told about your health it's like going to google and asking the internet to look at your symptoms. What's even worst, is that the Drs would tell their patients that the issue was a behaviour issue when it turned out to be more serious. Seriously the NHS needs to review this practice, they are a disgrace to the medical community and to the NHS and what it stands for. Going to be looking for a new practise as I would not want to put my kids health in jeopardy because of their lazyness to give proper care. Honestly if I could give them 0 stars I would!

45 mins on hold (from 08:14am) for worsening health condition only to be told all slots were full 15 minutes ago. So not only a waste of time but the surgery is only operating enough that people who called in the first 10 mins or so can be seen for the day. After all this was told to call 111. Absolute joke.

I’m really disappointed with the level of care provided for my grandad, a patient on the NHS vulnerable list. In the last week, it’s been impossible to get an appointment with a practice GP. After pressing the receptionist, we were offered a telephone appointment with a locum who prescribed antibiotics, agreed to send the prescription to my grandad’s local chemist for home delivery the following day. The antibiotics never arrived and after chasing the chemist and the surgery, it turned out the locum hadn’t done a prescription or made notes about the condition he’d previously diagnosed. The receptionist checked with the practice manager who confirmed we’d need a whole new appointment and would need to call back the next day. On phoning back the following day at 8 am, there was still no GP from the practice available so we were passed to the out of hours service. A GP from OOH phoned that evening and prescribed antibiotics. The prescription finally arrived yesterday, almost a week later. By then, my grandad’s condition had worsened leading to him being taken into hospital last night. He had to wait three hours just for an ambulance to turn up and then queue in an ambulance just to enter A&E due to Covid restrictions. We are left feeling very disappointed by the Hazelwood Practice.
