The provision of emergency care I have received from the doctors at this surgery is first class and could not be bettered. Also they have the most kind and caring reception staff who have helped me so much with my complex needs. Thank you all so much.

Very quick and helpful. Whether you have a phone appointment or in-person, Hillcrest Surgery services are without much delay and thorough. The doctors I've been fortunate to see are really kind and empathetic.

Harjit (I'm presuming she's a doctor, but not sure) has been disgraceful. Her manner is rude and abrupt. She's incredibly short and condescending. This is over a couple of appointments I've had with her. Never again. Most recently she called me in the morning, didn't bother introducing herself, saying she was from hillcrest or anything. Just started off by saying "what's the problem?" I explained what was wrong, saying several times I'm experiencing discomfort and know something is wrong, not extreme pain or anything like that. I mentioned several times it wasn't one specific incident that caused it. Upon hearing this, she rudely informs me I should've gone to A&E!! Incredulously I retorted, saying I wasn't aware that A&E was for mild discomfort that happened gradually over time. I thought it was for emergencies as the name suggests. She rudely brushed it off and made me an appointment for later that day. With advice like that, no wonder A&Es across the country are full! Take Harjit's advice and I'll be in A&E every day for all my minor discomforts, tweaks and what have you! Anyway, I arrive at my 10.30 appointment at 10.15. I checked in at reception. No one bothered to see me. I knew Harjit didn't have a patient because I saw her last patient. At 10.55 I asked reception what was going on. One of the ladies knocked on her door and tried to get in touch with her. Harjit didn't bother answering and no one could get in touch with her. At 11am I asked reception to rearrange my appointment with someone else. They didn't seem at all surprised when I told them I'd be submitting a complaint, about my phone call with her earlier in the day. Harjit's conduct is disgraceful. She's got an attitude problem, is incredibly rude, gives ridiculous advice and it seems to me like she's got a God complex. It's funny that that's the case, because she just seems clueless!!! The senior patient service assistant contacted me regarding this complaint. She had the audacity to lie and try and cover for Harjit, saying she mentioned A&E in a precautionary manner! Complete lie. She even said she'd listened to the phone call. I was the other participant on the call! Was I told, "if the pain gets worse, please go to A&E as a precaution?" No, nothing of the sort. It was said to me in a rude, abrupt, accusatory manner, why didn't you go to A&E" immediately after I'd just spent time explaining to her that I wasn't in extreme pain and I didn't have an accident or emergency. This senior patient assistant is rather laughably trying to cover for the incompetency and rudeness and sheer cluelessness of the clinician! She also said that I wasn't seen at my appointment because I wasn't checked in. So, after checking in at reception upon my arrival and being told to take a seat, I hadn't actually been checked in? When I went to complain 45 minutes later and the lady at reception told her colleague she didn't know why I hadn't been seen because she herself had checked me in, this receptionist was lying?! It seems like everyone at this surgery, from clinicians, to receptionists and the people handling complaints, lie and cover for each other. To top it off, because no one bothered to see me, I made an appointment for the next day. I received a message telling me that I was going see a certain doctor, but I ended up seeing someone else who proceeded to tell me I had always been down on the system to see him. Does anything work at this surgery, the systems they use, systems they have in place, clinicians, receptionists, backroom staff, anyone? Incompetency of the highest order, lies to cover up lies and rudeness and improper patient care, lying and fobbing off complaints and concerns to protect each other and brush everything under the carpet. From the looks of things reading other reviews, I am not the only one who has such concerns. Further complaints: had a blood test. Received a message from the surgery telling me they have the results and to contact them to make an appointment. Made an appointment for a callback the following morning. No one bothered calling

Discussing, they all need the sack, purposely don’t answer the phone and rude when they do, never any appointments available, doctors are useless and lazy, don’t want to do their job but don’t mind getting paid for nothing, should be shut down, wasting tax payers money, on hold for an hour and half from 2 o’clock, had to put the phone down, they all need the sack!! People rely on these services and being let down and neglected massively, life threatening problems and illnesses are clearly not prioritised and will not be treated accordingly, do not join!!!!!! It needs to be shut down

38 calls. Busy tone for 36 of these. The other 2 calls I was hung up on after 20 minutes then 30 minutes. Whole system is a joke. Over an hour spent trying to get through from 8am which is apparently the only time you may have any hope of getting an appointment. What is the reason for having no pre-bookable appointments? Looks like a complaint needs to be made. If I could give no stars I would.

After eventually getting through , listening to all the recordings and finally someone answering at 8.20am I am told by the very abrupt receptionist that all appointments are gone and phone back tomorrow at 8 or call at the window, it was my understanding that you couldn’t call at the window for appointments from previous experience, these receptionists need a course in customer care because without us they would surely have no job ?? So tired of trying to get through for appointments that you just carry on suffering, what are the doctors there for?? I must say that since Dyas Rd has closed the problems have escalated

I have tried to phone to the Surgery for over an hour, and kept getting engaged tone. When the phone did connect and I listened to the recorded message. I was told I was in a que. So I waited and waited, and after a while just got the engaged tone again! It’s really annoyed that they never pick the call it’s not first time I am calling from last few days. Really sad that we don’t have any other surgery near by then this. I can’t go by walk in and get appointments because of covid safety. Finally I got through phone after nearly a 1 hr of waiting but lady was really helpful.
