   I have been taking my car to A1 Pit Stop, for it's MOT service, for many years now! It is a husband and wife business, so they take extra care with the vehicles and customers. Their fees are fair and transparent. I would highly recommend them.

   Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with A1 Pitstop was so shockingly bad that I feel obligated to warn others. This is, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and dishonest garage I have ever dealt with. The staff were rude and dismissive, acting as if they were doing me a favor rather than providing a service. However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and booked my car in. That turned out to be a huge mistake. When I picked up my car, I immediately noticed something was wrong. Instead of fixing the issue, they had caused serious damage to my vehicle. When I pointed it out, they refused to take responsibility, instead making up an absurd story that it was somehow my fault. They blatantly lied to my face, claiming the damage must have been there before—when I know for a fact my car was in perfect condition when I dropped it off. I tried to reason with them, but they became increasingly aggressive and defensive. The manager was especially rude and dismissive. When I followed up over the phone, I was met with outright hostility—swearing, shouting, and an unprofessional attitude that was completely unacceptable. Instead of addressing my concerns, they doubled down on their lies and told me to "take it somewhere else" if I wasn’t happy. It’s clear that this garage has no interest in customer service or honesty. They are more than happy to take your money, provide subpar or even damaging work, and then refuse to take any responsibility. I’ve since had to take my car to a trusted mechanic, who confirmed that the damage was due to their incompetence. If you value your car, your money, and your sanity, stay far away from this place. I wouldn’t trust them to change a lightbulb, let alone handle any serious repairs. There are plenty of honest garages out there—this is definitely not one of them.

   Updated review! Around a year ago I wrote a review for A1 pitstop, but at that point I had only been there for my MOT’s, which I still do! I wanted to review the other work I’ve had done there. A few months ago I had a very slow puncture on one of my tyres and I couldn’t figure out what was causing it, I called the garage and within 1 working day l was booked in! Mehdi and his colleague got their little head lights on and managed to find a tinnie tiny nail in a really awkward spot, they repaired it and then checked the pressure of all four of my tyres making sure they were what they should be. I have had no issues with this tyre since, and to my surprise I was only charged £25! More recently as a result of my cars service at a main dealer I was informed my front break pads and break discs were 80% worn and needed replacing, they offered to do this work for nearly £300. I said I would like to see if a place more local to me would do this sort of work instead. I called A1 pit stop the following week to ask if they did this, which they did! They texted me with a quote and had availability the following day at a time I picked. Once I arrived Mehdi and Denise wanted to check the car to see if I actually did need the work done as sometimes (not always!) main dealers say you do when you actually don’t. I really really appreciated this, it just shows what an honest garage this is. The work was all done and I was charged less than I was quoted, which was already substantially less than the main dealer. If anyone is looking for a garage for repairs or MOTs I really recommend A1 pitstop, it’s so reassuring going somewhere I can trust. Original review over a year ago: After my car reached 3 years old I had to start taking it to get its MOT. I had a look around my area and A1 pit stop stood out. It’s super close to me and had great reviews. I have now taken my car here for the past few years and I am so impressed with the service. On the most recent occasion I accidentally turned up an hour earlier than my appointment but they were more than happy to get working on my car as soon as they could. I then got a call 50 minutes later letting me know all has gone well and it is ready for pick-up. The price is very reasonable for the work they do, they let me know my tyres might need replacing soon and presented me with options and costs, also the name of the tyres I had on already (I wouldn’t have had a clue!). Denise on the front desk is kind, polite and always willing to help anyway she can. The gentlemen that does the work on the car is friendly and very good at his job. I will continue to go here for my MOT and my parents and friends have also started to go here based on my experiences.

   I have been taking my car to this garage for two years now on a friend’s recommendation. The service is First Class. Denise on reception is polite, professional, knowledgeable on the car industry, and friendly. My car runs extremely smoothly after the checks/ adjustments that they undertake. I’m really happy with how they run their business. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. Be Proud of what you do!
