Incredible service from doctor Mehmoona, she went above and beyond to sort out a problem the hospital caused. I am learning women's health is still a tricky thing to navigate, but with doctors like her, it feels a little easier. Thank you so much.
DESERVES A 0 I had a phone call appointment with a female Dr ( unsure of the name as I rarely use the doctors) at 18:06 28th October 2025 and as I’m pregnant and struggling with my acid reflux I asked if she could prescribe me some kind of antacid, she said they don’t recommend these to pregnant women & told me to use gaviscon, I responded by saying I’m currently on sick pay because I’m having a hard pregnancy and I’m not really in a position to pay £20 for a bottle of gaviscon. She then proceeded to say I was being rude and she didn’t like my tone of voice ( I’d used the same tone in my voice for the whole phone call) so I asked her what she thought was rude because I had just been vulnerable and told her I’m not currently financially able to spend that amount of money on something. She then proceeded to end the call on me and if anything she was rude. I was probably the last patient of the day and if another patient before me had annoyed her or something that’s not my issue and the same attitude shouldn’t be brought to me, she handled this situation very unprofessionally. I am now without any kind of medication to help with my acid reflux and heartburn and don’t feel comfortable making another appointment after I had waited all day for a phone call from this doctor. I suffer with mental health issues and this has made me feel like I won’t be able to ask for help in the future.
Have moved out the area years ago but won't give up my doctors. The staff are all helpful and I've always managed to see a doctor within 1 - 3 days. I would highly recommend this surgery.
Getting to see the Doctor is more difficult than getting to see the Pope. My comment about the new NHS appointment booking system is unchanged. It’s awful and no one likes it. But credit where it’s due and Dr. Sanikop is an absolutely wonderful doctor and has no equal. Her colleagues and staff are also a cut above the norm.

Would absolutely NOT recommend - string of issues with both admin staff and doctor led to changing surgery. Very poor communication, attitude and response times. (Only saving grace is the nurse)
1 Star is being very generous as this practice is a absolute disgrace. Starting with the incompetent reception staff who in the short time I've been with them have managed to get something wrong every time either me or my partner have been unfortunate enough to interact with them. My only interactions with a doctor was for my first prescription of my repeat medicines which I was told over the phone that I had gotten completely wrong (even though I have been on them for many years) then spoken down to and made to feel like I was inconveniencing her. The second time was for an adoption medical where she complained for nearly 20 minutes that she was overworked and under pressure and it was these non important things that were the cause. Now changed surgery and I recommend anyone else to do the same.
In these trying times it's nice to get telephone appointments quickly. Receptionists are always friendly and help you feel at ease. Not a bad surgery at all.
Absolutely brilliant service today from thorns road surgery. Came in to the pharmacy this morning to see all our nhs smart cards were blocked, which meant we weren't able to downloads patient prescriptions. Having rang numerous surgeries and trying our luck with our other pharmacy branches, a lovely lady (Wendy) at thorns road surgery went out her way to facilitate the unblocking of our smart cards at their premises with the help of the practice manager. They have taken us out of a potentially deep hole this morning and we have nothing but appreciation & admiration for their help and courtesy. Great reception staff and management!!!!
