    Overall a disappointing experience My 2017 Astra went in for MOT and a service yesterday. After a couple of hours i was called to say the vehicle had failed its MOT on 3 points. These were: 1. Exhaust leak 2. Needed new brake pads 3. Needed new brake discs I was given a price for the pads and discs and obviously told the garage to go ahead as i needed my vehicle to pass. Later in the day i was called and told it had now passed and i could collect. Later that evening i was reading over my paperwork and noticed a discrepancy on my MOT fail certificate. It stated that the failures were the exhaust leak and the brake pads. To my surprise, It actually stated my discs were just an advisory "brake disc worn, but not excessively" I then began to carry out research. My vehicle had only covered 19400 miles. This was well below what a pair of discs should last. The next day we contacted the garage and was told i would get a call back. Hours went by and i received no call. Unfortunately due to the nature of my work i could not chase so my partner did so on my behalf. She was called and told that the discrepancy came about as the MOT tester would have entered the advisory for the discs before the work had began on the pads. it would have only been once work had began for the pad change that he would have seen the discs then needed changing and that's why it came about. Unfortunately this doesn't make sense. I didn't receive an initial call to tell me the brake pads needed changing and to give my go-ahead. I received a call to tell me both the pads and discs needed changing as they had both failed the MOT. Its at this point i was asked for the go-ahead for the work to be carried out. To suggest it was only after work on the pads began that the discs became an issue is simply untrue and i was called about both before the work had began Its clear to me that the discs did not need changing. They only had 19500 miles on them and the MOT certificate as attached clearly states worn but not excessive. Somehow between this certificate and the phone call to me its changed to the discs being a failure and needing to be changed. I can only imagine a break down in communication or error on someone's behalf. I'm not going to go round in circles listening to excuses and arguing the point. Ill place this review and allow people to make their own minds up from my experience.

    My car had a problem on a country road nearby and a very helpful passer-by recommended the garage and said to ask for Mark. They couldn’t have been more fantastic. I had my 98 year old mother with me and they found a seat for her in their office. They fixed the car quickly despite being very busy. They were friendly and helpful and they wouldn’t take any money. Fantastic. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
